Who do you like in the second half in the IL/DL?
    Cleveland, Los Angeles, Syracuse, Pittsburgh-WC
    DVS, Windy City, Baltimore, Davenport-WC

What teams have surprised or disappointed?
DL - Maine. Cleveland and Pittsburgh fielded good teams going into the season so it wasn't expected to be easy but the defending Champions have just recently got their heads above water.
IL - Washington. One of the highest payrolls, defending IL Champions and only a .500 ball club.

What teams should make moves before the waiver deadline?
DL - New Orleans. Lot's of aging veterans that won't be back next year. Probably time to blow it up. Not easy for a new owner to do, but it's probably needed.
IL - Philly. Buy or sell. They need to shake things up.

What do you predict for you own team?
I might be in the minority here but I think Death Valley is going to go on a tear in the 2nd half here and leave us in the dust. I bet we finish around 85 wins but DVS and eventual Wild Card winner will be closer to 95 wins.

Who should we look out for on your team now or in the future?
Pat Ladd is quietly becoming arguably the best player in baseball.
    Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
    Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
    Washington Bats - 1979-2013

The annually injured JJ Caplan isn't ready to concede just yet.

You need to get that guy to the DL and at DH before injuries ruin his career.

He's not ruined yet. Gonna squeeze out every ounce and drop him on the BLB scrap heap.

Cuz JJ misses 5 weeks every year. I still remember Clay predicting the draft picks that would hit the top 100 the year JJ was drafted and he didn't even pick him. That was already a win.

None of this talk matters anyway. Herberholz is the best player in the BLB anyway. Yet nobody wants to trade for him.

I tried to move Herberholtz last year. No takers.

I have been very impressed by three baseball hitters.

Hector Feliciano is quietly putting up a big season. He's had very good numbers before but his first half was astronomically good. He plays in Morgantown so he gets less pub than he should.

Abraham Santana has always been considered a premier hitter but this year he's actually showing it. His power is on display but again, he's doing it for a poor team so it hasn't impressed enough.

Then there's Davenport's Tom Gibson. He turned the corner last year but is proving it's no fluke by outperforming himself. Always liked his potential so it's nice to see his bat coming around.

Cleveland drafted and then traded depth to compete and it's paid off. Every move seems to be gold when touched by Andrew. Another impressive turn from a franchise he runs.

Los Angeles was dead just a blink ago and is once again a legit threat in the DL.

It's interesting to watch Batavia climb back to the top of that mountain and to see Davenport tread water with Windy City.

I think Denver can bounce back a little from a very down June and July with the promotion of Dave Perkins and the continued improvement of pitchers Hightower and Gaxiola.

We will need Tamieke to continue his brilliant pitching. And we need a little more out of Melgoza and Ledbetter but overall we are confident about the maturation of our staff.

Obviously, on the offensive side we are watching Verba try to hit 40 dingers and McPherson elevate how game to the next level.

We are not making the post season but I feel good about this team's future.

I can probably afford him next year but I likely wouldn't attempt it.
