Mine are a little low, but not ridiculously so. That $4 million must hurt a bit.

The player development isn't too bothersome...we really don't know how much of an impact it has...and because I've been in "go for it" mode the last few years, I don't have a ton of prospects. A lot of minors is fillers right now. Sure, I'd prefer to bump that to much higher, but I'm not stressing a year or two of low development budget.

The scouting is a bitch though. I can't trust anything my scout says. Granted, my last two scouts haven't been rated as high, when I entered the budget this year and hired a new scout, like 50% of my organization changed drastically. I felt comfortable with it because I didn't have draft picks but I think it's really hurt in the minors/majors call-ups and in trade discussions. I just don't know how good some of these guys are...and I'm probably hurting development by not calling up guys when they are ready.

I have a small handful of guys on the last years of their deals and a few headed to arbitration or team options that I can decline. Realistically, I could clear probably $20M for the off-season. However, I am currently in negotiations with closer Armando Ureste and when you consider I'd probably like to move my scouting/development budgets from $4M to maybe $10-$12, that's probably all my funds...With 4-5 major contributors walking in Free-Agency for nothing.

I remember those days of $4 in scouting and development combined.

Who the **** is Enrique Ferreira?

He has a .943 OPS for Toronto. My scout says he has 3 contact and 4 power.

Who the hell is this guy?

Prez cut him a couple years back after hitting over .270. He's a late bloomer that hasn't had a true opportunity. But in Canada, we take anybody. Ferreira has blossomed into a great lead off hitter.

If you can't already tell, he's available for trade.

Yea he was pretty good for us but 2004 was a disaster and he was an unfortunate casualty of retooling.

Although I'm confused how he can have low contact but high avoid K. Seems counterintuitive.
