Can't complain about a .500 week against the two Stout powers.

We are so injured. And average. Very average. 1.20 is on the block if anyone wants it.

          Pawtucket 3-3.

LF Ron Lauber is one strange kid. He needs a change of scenery.

Another 3-3. Lost a series. Won a series.

McPherson is heating up. Verba is nice and steady.

Tamieke has thrown at least 7 innings in each start. 8 innings in each win. 6 quality starts in 7 outings. He's the only absolute for us.

We hoped Melgoza was turning it around but not yet. Ledbetter seems to be a good pitcher but can't put it together. Not sure what happened to Mueller.

Affiliates remain in first place. Drafted SS Wilkinson finishes .397 in senior year. Playoffs about to begin for those young men in college.

Second straight 3-3 week as I head on my two week Hiatus...hopefully I come back and we're still rolling.

5-1 and we looked very good.

I love the trend of our team though. Quietly we have the #1 scoring offense and the #1 defense in runs allowed in the IL. This team is shaping up a bit better than expected without Hamilton.

Was hoping I'd get that waiver claim, but the dirty Patriots snagged him.

2-5 sim for us, as Batavia exposed us as the not top-tier team that we are with a sweep. Still at the top of our division for now.

Bang Xiao is sure tallying up the errors this season!

Pretty impressive how good your team is even without one of the leagues best hitters. Well done.

3-3 week. Won @ Denver, lost vs. Dallas.

My team is playing very strange baseball. Pat Ladd, Tyler McLouth and surprise Rule V Draft Pick Alex Otero are all mashing at .910+ OPS...while Antonio Cardenas, Dave D'Orio and Cy Gray are all hitting .575 OPS or less...If this lineup starts clicking, I feel very confident in the talent, top to bottom.

With the trade of Willie Garcia, the lineup loses one of the better eyes but gives the opportunity to more players who deserve regular at bats. Gabrielle Clareno and Jerry Sanchez will now spot-start at 1B with Pat Ladd moving back to the outfield. They both expect starting lineup.

My pitching has been destroyed by one player...Terry Bornemann. Once rated as the #12 prospect in baseball, the 28-year-old had a 2.93 ERA and 1.11 WHIP last season. This year, in five starts, he is 0-5, with a 10.89 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. I've seen enough. He will be moved to long-relief and I'm going to give the starts to two youngsters in flame-thrower Zachary Lewis and play-to-contact Zack Minter.

I'm fortunate that the Stout isn't what it used to be. Morgantown and Seattle are now a combined 16-47 and DVS is a game above .500 but has three contributors on the DL until June. If I was in any other division, I would be really worried.

Next week I get six straight at home. Syracuse and Los Alamos have a combined 37 wins thus far. It won't be easy.

Thanks. I'd be lying if I say I expected this though. Inoyue is the big surprise for us. I knew he'd hit quite a few out, but not hitting .340+, even if it is still early. I know he will settle down around June if not earlier. But I am hoping Chiba will pick up the slack by then.

The pitching though I sort of expected. Our staff was a bit under the radar last year. I know I pointed out Taylor's performances in the second half of the season but really Taylor, Uribe and even Katsura pitched well last year despite what the numbers say. Even Wu pitched well as a September call up last year.

Now, we're a year older with a little playoff experience with this young group so I love the way we look. But it's a long season and it looks like the former champs have found their groove as well.

Just another day in the BLB's best division.
