6-0 as Yhprum's Law was in full effect last sim.

I haven't seen this kind of offense from the squad in YEARS. We racked up a league high of 49 runs, 67 hits, with a league best triple slash: .313/.382/.505.

Even our pitching was on point as we pitched 2 shutouts and finished the week with a 1.84 ERA. The craziest thing is that a pinch hitter won player of the week for us. Dave Willis went 5/6 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI for player of the week. Just insane.

I can only hope we didn't use up all of our good fortune in one week.

Carlos? Is Verba the real deal?

Denver 4-2. We are actually still over .500 after two weeks of baseball.

Pat Verba has 5 home runs and all of them have come in two games. Had his second multi-home run game - this time a 3 HR game against Maine at Rocky Top.

McPherson did not show any home run pop but he did a great job hitting the ball as well.

Denver's All-Time Saves Leader Tony Perez has now been a part of all 8 wins this year. 7 saves and one win. Locking him up for three more years was the right move.

Down at the farm, more solid performances.

The AAA club turned it around after a slow start. Perkins is no longer flirting with .400. He's actually hitting .429. Even Leo Martinez (acquired from Death Valley) is getting in on the act, batting .404.

Dave Adamson woke up in AAA after winning the AA POY and it started off a bit shaky. But he's now thrown 17 shut out innings in his last two starts.

Not many major prospects in AA, but Goodhart was solid in an outing before leaving his second with a minor injury. He should be fine.

It's all Tom Wright in A ball so far. He's having a nice bounce back year after a poor professional debut. The pitching as well has been solid.

So far he doesn't seem to be fazed by BLB pitching. I hope so. A .778 slugging is stellar for a 24-year-old even if it has only been 45 at-bats.

Oh yea, he's for real. I just thought it would've taken him a 1-1.5 years to put it all together.

I can see you making noise sooner than expected. But only if you had a veteran lefty in your pen who could help set up or even close games in tight situations........

Ha! I don't have the money nor do I want to give up what it would take to acquire that lefty.

haha a no-no for NO! I guess that's why I put Ortega at the top of the rotation.

Also, it looks we had a different type of no-no in the minors. Didn't know I was already exceeding roster limits there. I'll make sure to prune them back.

I know guys are underwhelmed by the draft, but I actually like it. I see more than a few guys that I want to grab immediately, if I could. I wish I had more picks in the first round.

I know who my top two guys are. Just have to see who the clown takes first.

But I have a nice list of guys I know will be around to pick 2nd. Might even see a couple in the 3rd and 4th. Not stars, obviously, but the kind of depth I want and like.

I would but to acquire first round picks requires giving up too much.

3-3 this week against Washington and Death Valley...we'll take it.

Hardwick is already past halfway of his HR total from last season. That fractured arm in March of last year never healed right and he had a downer of a 2006 campaign. Throw in Haraguchi as the first real potential superstar we've had in years, along with Big Jon, Wyatt, and Montalbo and we should be okay on offense which is what killed us last season.

We also get back Early this week and it will be interesting to see how rusty he is following his 10th month rehab for a stretched elbow ligament. His career 2.46 ERA and 1.04 WHIP will be affected, but to how much so no one really knows.

Good to see Willis get POTW for Baltimore. Him, Alvarado, and Hoffman were part of the Bayer trade with Virginia back in the day. Shocking that none of them ever turned into anything.
