Well shit....Morgantown exported and still went 0-7.

So it could have been worse.

Took three of four from Cleveland after losing on opening day, and then was swept by a vastly superior Pittsburgh in the first "Sussex County NJ Series." (Not quite as catchy as "Subway Series", is it?)

We at least had a close 2-1 loss in the last game against them.

My team is broke so enjoy all that waiver-wire talent I hear is out there!

I'm glad my first decision ever went 7.1 with only 2 hits against you, haha :)

But Warkentin was moved to the rotation late last season by Mwetts...and he started in the playoffs...

Nope sorry, I don't recall any such move ;). Either way Warkentin was sitting as a LR when I took over. that Mwetts was a smart guy if he did.

You were dealt a very good hand and are likely the favorite at this point to win the Brewmaster's...the only thing that will probably derail you is injuries, which have already begun. Duane Porter isn't a huge loss because of your pitching depth but losing Johnny Davis (if he misses time) will hurt. And as other teams have experienced in recent years, it sucks when your best overall player, OF Fred Schubert, is "fragile."

Most of my team is Fragile. Scherer has hit well the first rotation in Davis' absence, so we'll see.

Ho-Hum week for the Bulldogs, 3-4.

Victor Alvarez looked good which is a surprising twist for him because he looked to always turn it up in the second of the season since playing for us. We're probably going to shuffle the lineup a bit and give 2005 IL ROY, Danny Martinez his spot back at the top of the lineup vs. RHP. Krummen didn't wow me in ST or in the first week so he'll hit 6th.

Overall just a mediocre week which I'm cool with because we tend to start slow every year. I am loving the fact that despite our dead last ranking in runs allowed, we only gave up 2 home runs, 15 BB and struck out 60. I expect that we'll get to a few more of those ground balls as the season continues and cut down a lot of those runs.

Also like Pat said, there is some real talent on the waiver wire. If I had room on roster there are more than a couple guys I'd pick up (or not even put on waivers).

My scout is pretty underwhelmed at the lack of impact players in this draft. Lots of potential solid starters, maybe a few guys that look like they may be more. I do know who I'd take easily with the #1 pick but I'm not sure others would agree.

Agreed on the SP as far as an ace. There is none. By the time the pick gets to us it's gonna be dice rolling time I fear. After 15-20 it looks like AAAA/bench players only. I'm sure some will surprise like always and I haven't taken a really close look but on the surface looks like yet another underwhelming class.

Last two seasons have been iffy for Aces. In some draft classes they'd be considered number 2 , 3 pitchers. Of course the outfielders exist, but no Murillo this season.

Luckily two of our first land in top 15, Top 6 seems pretty clear (not the order) of them) then picks 7-18 who knows.

Pitchers aren't til next season. Im cool with that.
