I don't always spend 18M on a player but when I do, I spend it on a guy who will be on the DL for the entire season.

It's supposed to rotate slightly but I've never trusted the game to do so.

          That's pretty shitty man.

But, you did have to know the risk when signing him. "Fragile," soon to be 36-years-old and very low work ethic.

Good news: He is still helping your fan interest.

I did, but I was thinking more midseason injury and maybe 8 or 9 weeks. Not a season ending injury in ST. Its all good though. Thems the breaks, literally.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying, "you should have seen this coming" or anything like that. Just if you had to guess one player on the Bulldogs would go down in ST for the year, you would have to bet on Hamilton.

Hopefully for your sake he doesn't move to "wrecked" injury history and take a big ratings hit. He's still on the books for 2008.

The funny thing is that I lessened his load in the 2nd half of ST to try and avoid this. He and Chiba were going to be an item at #2 and #4. We'll have to find some magic somewhere else.

We get Verba back in the first sim. He's in the lineup, hopefully ready to play.

McPherson started slow in ST and then finished with a 900 OPS. Good things.

I'm surprisingly healthy going into the first sim, with the amount of fragile guys I have. I made a few tweaks to my lineup, but a 20-4 spring training record gives me a lot of hope. Biggest change came in my rotation, as I now have an $8m long reliever in Shane Carroll, and $280k Travis Warkentin in the rotation.

I also noticed I have a ton of young outfield talent in the top 100 prospects (3 of them) and some good young guys in my Outfield already. I could really use a future C for when Davis retires. Scherer looks serviceable, but man...

Don't need anything yet though, I'll see how these young guys develop and maybe look to make a trade at the deadline or in the offseason.

Excited to get the season underway. I kinda feel like the San Antonio Spurs. Up 3-2 with two games at home and losing to the Gudies leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. Not sure I have the horses to get to the Brewmaster's again this year but we will damn sure try.

Decent Spring Training showing. Best record in the Stout but 4th in the IL, which is about where I expect to be. Still have a few roster decisions to make...have a lot of depth choices...but pretty much ready to go.

I'm not impressed with us this spring. We're staying the course though and pushing the young guys forward.

2nd place in the Stout is wide open.
