Not the best Free-Agent class we have had but a few gems. Unfortunately, I am over budget so I will only be able to comment on it. However, if I were a player in Free-Agency, these are a few guys I would go after:
.) CL Sandy Franco - A lot of teams in the BLB prefer to not spend money on relief pitching...I am not one of those teams. Franco will turn just 27 years old in February, is durable, never been hurt, throws 100 MPH, and he could be a teams closer easily for the next 5-6 seasons. It's rare these types of players hit the market, at least this young.
.) C/1B/DH/LF Roberto Goto - He's going to be expensive. No matter where you play him in the field, he won't be winning a DWI. However, he is one of the best hitters in baseball and still has prime years of baseball left. His injury history is just "normal" but he hasn't been hurt that much. He is probably most teams, especially DL teams, #1 Free-Agent target.
.) 3B Zach Chandler - He will turn 35 in Spring, has a history of being inconsistent and he isn't a team player. But the dude is capable of hitting 30 home runs if given enough at bats. His contract demands are very reasonable for a position scarce of solid hitters.
.) SP Alex Torres - He isn't the same pitcher anymore and he is going to be very expensive...but he would be a solid addition to any staff in the BLB.
.) 2B Tyler Debenedetti - I think that's how you spell his name. He's not a great hitter, fielder or runner. But he's solid. Turns 30 in January, is adequate defender at multiple spots, switch hits and he won't cost a lot. It's not easy to find startable infielders in Free-Agency. He can start in a lot of places.
