  • Upcoming SIM Alert: FA1/Rule 5 Draft

The sim will be Friday, June 6th at 8 AM PCT. We can run it sooner if everyone is in earlier.

Please send your Rule 5 lists to me...complete with entire name and position of player.

These teams have not exported...also let me know if you don't plan to export for FA:

    Pawt
    Dallas
    LAD
    Wilm
    Mor
    LAA
    WC

As for our vacancies we are in the process of filling them but for now we move on. No use letting the league stagnate since we don't have a lot of interest currently. Neither open team has FA money to spend so they won't be missing a lot. If you are in other leagues or other forums please look for good candidates that might be interested.

    Upcoming Schedule:

    Fri 6/6 - Free Agency 1 - Rule 5 Draft - Dec 1st to Dec 15
    Sun 6/8 - Free Agency 2 - Dec 15 to Jan 1
    Tues 6/10 - Free Agency 3 - Jan 1 to Jan 15
    Wed 6/11 - Free Agency 4 - Jan 15 to Feb 1
    Thur 6/12 - Free Agency 5 - Feb 1 to March 6 (ST)
    Sat 6/14 - Spring Training 1
    Sun 6/15 - Spring Training 2

    I was thinking....

1)Rule V draft no one gets picked from NO or Pitt

    2) Since both commishes are from the IL why not for now Matt makes sure NO ducks are in a row (team focus: neutral) and Brad keep Pitt inline (team focus: win now) Nothing against Brad's IL team but clearly Philly isnt in win now mode so makes sense he watches over Pitt where Matt your team is clearly in the mix right now. Nothing big can be done of course, just be able to fill any holes that might come up.

    Thoughts?

Brad and I are going to mix and match what we do with the open teams. I do expect them to fill in the next few weeks at the latest...at least one of them. Someone's coming home...

As for the Rule 5 I've gone through NO and Pitt and moved the young studs to the 40 man...so I doubt what anyone is thinking is there is there anymore.

                  That's fine everyone.

We have until Friday so no hurry. Sim will just be a day or two early if everyone is in.

Brad is on Bradcation next week anyways so the sim schedule might be a little screwy. Just getting the ball rolling again. I'm ready for some baseball.

I'm ready to get things started back up as well. We'll continue to look for new ownership, but as Matt mentioned, neither NO or PIT has available $$ for FA, so they're not really missing out on anything at this point of the offseason. We'd usually prefer new owners not start trading immediately upon taking the helm of their team, so we're not really hurting the trade market by pushing forward either. Hopefully we can get the posts filled sooner rather than later, but I think for now it makes sense to move forward to keep momentum/interest up.

Still bitter that we rushed the playoffs and Brewmasters but now we are taking a break.

                      Bah humbug.

Hindsight, 20/20 and all that. We thought we had an owner or two lined up. An extended break was never in the plans.

It's only the playoff plan we put in place in the '93 season...you must have been one of the two that voted against it.

Every other day and finishing the rounds between those. The only one that was "rushed" was BC2 and that was because you exported.

I'm fine with a slow offsesaon. I spend more time looking at my team and farm system then.

                              Still out:

                              WC
                              Wilm
                              Dal

I have received Rule 5 from these teams:

Balt, Philly, Morg, Wash, Paw, Car

Finally please welcome Jay as the new manager of the Pittsburgh Millers! We haven't had a new manager in many seasons (and years) so help him out as much as you can and don't try and trade for all his players for at least a few months.
