Our DNA losing games by 1 run in the late innings or extra innings. NO export needed from us. Just finish us off.

Damn, was hoping to win at least one game. They were all close games though so I won't be too suicidal.

Going to be tough to shut the door on Chicago in The Mansion. I think the saying is we are "playing with house money" right now.

Either way this goes, its definitely been a coming out party for Chiba. Barring injury, that kid is going to be impressive for a while.

I exported, ready to roll. Down 3-2 after a tight series. Well, we are finally healthy and Artie Clemons and Al Hamilton will be back. We are back home for the last couple of games. Alex Mejia (15 IP vs. Maine, only given up 3ER this year) is starting Game 6. I'm hoping we can get to Game 7 where Danny Ventura (who is 3-0 against Maine this year) will start.

I can't really say I'm surprised by anything anymore.

                    In the IL...

I was surprised when Baltimore eeked into the playoffs, not really surprised they are beating Windy City though. Even without Todd Taylor, they've played great baseball the last 2 weeks. Windy City is hobbled - no Kling, no Caplan, and no Neal (), but they certainly aren't without the horses to pull this out. I still think this is a pretty solid upset if it comes to pass.

I had a feeling it was Pat's year again at the beginning of the season. Once he got off to that start, his starters were pitching that well, and many of his hitters were having career years. I didn't think they would make such quick work of the kids in Davenport, but I'm not really shocked. I think WAS wins it all again and everyone realizes they should stop dealing with the new Evil Empire. Maybe Dave D'Orio even hits a bottom of the ninth walk off grand slam against Jake and everyone finally says, "yeah, that's a lot of poor puppies right there..."

                    In the DL...

Ones go down all the time in this game. I don't know if it's like that in other leagues too, or if it's something in the game that's coded, or we're all chasing ghosts and Funclownian conspiracy theories. PIT is just the latest victim. Jake's team has been hurt all season, so I know I underestimated them. I thought Pitt had the horses this year on offense with everyone healthy. Schubert, Gamboa, Simmons, Wallis alone are sick. Throw in career years from guys like Rory (who?) Richardson and even Johnny (I probably was on the Him Juice but got away with it) Davis, and I'm kind of shocked they went out like that.

Maine-NYK is just a good ole fashioned slugfest with some great vets playing for their championship lives in new places. Fernando Hernandez (CAL)-Eric Keifer (WIL), Jerry Brown (CAR)-Al Hamilton (BAL), Daniel Alvarez (CAR)-Spoon Gomez (PHI)... then you've got guys like Fisher, Sau, Pang, Garin back on the big stage. It's like one of those movies (Expendables/Avengers) full of classic cameos by your favorite heroes and villains. I have no idea who wins this one, but it's certainly a fun star watching experience.

Lol, is not a Funclownian conspiracy.

Last time two 1 seeds met for the Brewmaster was:

                      97- Hartford / Virginia

                      (This is almost 10 seasons!!!)

League Champions who were 1 seeded:

                      DL- LA Dino's 1999
                      IL- Baltimore 2001

I'm sure a 1 will eventually sneak in, but just seems the top seeds are snake bitten these days.
