Van Leer debuted at 22 which all things considered not bad for a mid round pick.
Also three 18 year olds made the team list. One negative is two guys also dropped off the top 100, but my guess is both will show back up.

This was sort of a warm up draft. Next few drafts need to be hits.

    Oh Pawtucket 2-4.

Took two out of three from Dallas and Denver. If we could close out games we'd almost never lose. But that's our DNA. Anyway none of that matters. All that matters is:

Chasing History. Tracking Jamie Frantz's historical run at the coveted BLB triples record.

      1984 - Dale O Hegarty 17 3B's

      *2006- Jamie Frantz 13 3B's

      *Through 62 games.

Frantz has also cracked the top players list for the first time in his career.

I see it, Jistic. Not going to throw bad mojo on it.

We went 2-4 which I expected because we had Windy City. But after stealing one from them, would have been nice to go 3-3 and take more than one from Los Alamos. Oh, well. We're bad.

The draft was a success for us. The updated Top 100 list now includes 9 Denver prospects.

Making the list from this draft were 3rd overall pick Dave Perkins (#38), 11th pick William Eckstein (#55) and 2nd round pick Tom Wright (#70). They join McPherson (#1), Verba (#4), Rodrigues (#49), Godinez (#92) and pitchers Hightower (#19) and Goodhart (#88).

We might have an actual future here.

We need June to end. We're just an average baseball team that's struggling to hit and in the bullpen. Hopefully Aguilar gives us a boost next week and Cash the week after. Nobody in the Top 100, but Pulido, Garza, Navarette, Boatner, Berry and Kline held their ground.

We blew out Batavia in three games in Maine by a total of 16-2.

Then lost another pair of one-run games like we usually do, this time at Baltimore, before winning the series finale.

We are 3-14 in one-run games.

Bill Hernandez is 7-5-4 from my scout...and a lefty. He's out six weeks. I have one of the best trainers in the game...

The better question is why would someone release an injured player?

Pretty happy to see SS Andy Garcia debut at #26 on the Top 100 list. He has a lot of development left so the road will be paved with potential potholes, but we have high hopes for him.

IF Tyler May suffered the dreaded post-concussion syndrome and promptly retired. We'll probably bring him back to life, but even still that's probably pretty much the end of the line for him since he was already playing above his skillset and he was nothing special. So long Tyler May, we hardly knew ye.

                        Baltimore May Trade Evans
                        Thursday, May 25th, 2006
Allegedly, Jerry Evans has asked to be traded from Baltimore. It is rumored that he is unhappy with fans and the team management and that maybe the pressure and demands of playing here are too great.

Like I said, we expect to win every year. No room for crybabies. The lights may be too bright for him in Baltimore. He's pitching well and on a team friendly contract. Make an offer for him.

Interleague, 3 IF hurt, didn't export. No clue who my manager decided to play and where but it's safe to say I didn't help out our week.
