          Sim from hell.

0-7 on the road at Syracuse and Indianapolis, all close games.

And now my catcher Robby Shumway (on the Top Players list) and my third baseman Chad Melson are going to miss the better part of the next month.

We're four games below our run differential and can't stay healthy.

          Damn.

4-3 week against Philly and Baltimore...it could have easily been worse.

-LF B.J. Jobe is having a career year and is currently 3rd in the IL in average, 2nd in runs, 2nd in SBs and 3rd in WAR. He's also first in the IL in zone rating and efficiency.

-3B Antonio Cardenas leads the BLB in RBI with 49. He's currently on pace for 156...he has only broken 100 once before, 109 in 2000.

-SP Tom Downs continues to baffle me. The versatile pitcher just threw a gem against Baltimore, 7 IP, 0 ER, 15 GB, 3 FB. He benefits a lot from the infield defense but I don't know how he continues to get it done. My scout has him 4-7-5 and in 972 career innings he has a 2.89 ERA and 1.17 WHIP.

-OF Gabriele Clareno deserves more ABs but he will be stuck as mainly a reserve unless injury happens. As a sub off the bench, he is hitting .278 with a 1.183 OPS. He had another pinch hit homerun this week.

This week we play Death Valley for three in DC then travel to Morgantown to complete a Stout Week. Probably not the best time to make changes but I'm going to shift around the infield this week. Tyler McLouth is a better fit at 3B. Hiding him at 2B when he has an outfielder next to him playing 1B, really creates a big gap in the infield. I'm moving him to his natural 3B and Antonio Cardenas from 3B to SS. Last year he played 76 games there and was one of the worst defenders in the IL. Hopefully with the added experience he can be at least league average. Moving to from SS to 2B are defensive stalwarts Cy Gray and Orlando Saucedo.

A 3-3 week for the Brawlers. Get swept by Windy City, those bastards, and then sweep Carolina.

OK sim against Toronto and New Orleans- may need to make some changes to improve my starting pitching.

3-3 for the week. We snatch 2/3 from Morgantown but can only muster 1/3 from Washington.

We hit surprisingly well this week but had a few injuries. Victor Alvarez (C) sprained his ankle early in the week and will miss another healing up. Promising waiver pickup, Zack Greenwood (OF) also left the game injured. Team doctors have diagnosed him with a partially torn labrum and he'll be out of the lineup for up to 2 months. This really sucks because Greenwood and Alvarez combined for 7 of our league low, 15 home runs. Never thought I'd see the day where we couldn't hit home runs in Phillips Field.

Our pitching is still playing well one-third of the way into the season. Our pitching has only allowed 146 earned runs so far this season. Only the Windy City staff has allowed fewer runs. We are also top 3 in the IL in starter ERA, bullpen ERA and walks allowed. Not bad for a rotation that has 4 regular starters less than 28 years old.

Next up we face the upstart Brawlers for four straight in Miletich Stadium and then head to Los Alamos for three more in Babylon.
