5-1 week for Cleveland with the only loss coming when my closer blew a 2 run lead in the 9th. Yoyo dropped off the top prospects list but we still have the 4th ranked system. Feels like we're heading in the right direction.

Well no 12-run losses this week, but we lost 4 games by a total of 5 runs. Not sure what's worse.

6-1. Bats are waking up. Bullpen still blows.

            3-3 sim. 2-1 @ Los Alamos but 1-2 @ Wilmington.

Against his former team, 3B Antonio Cardenas hit a homerun in all three games. His batting average has dipped down to .240 but he is on pace for 33 doubles, 7 triples, 37 homeruns and 151 RBI. However, a lot of the other bats have cooled and Washington is now just 5th in the IL in runs scored. The bullpen blew another game while the rotation has switched back to the six-man. I fear an injury is coming.

After a 5-1 week we are the latest team in Porter to temporarily hold on to first place. Although our hold on first place isn't real, our pitching is. We have the #4 SP ERA and the #2 BP ERA. Todd Taylor (SP) went 9.7 innings (no decision though) with 11K and 0 BB, spearheading our 1.47 ERA for the week. He has 57 K and just 7 BB so far this year.

If only we had a run producer........

I was waiting to see if Sonny Marshburn would awake from his slumber before I gushed over A.J. Hightower.

Well Marshburn did more than wake up. He put the competition (mostly us) to sleep, knocking out five home runs this past sim. Good ol' Sonny boy doing his best to push Dallas higher up the tables.

So we're excited to see Hightower lead AA in strikeouts. He now has three straight 10+K games with a 9k and 8k sandwiched between a fourth 10K+ game.

A.J. has teamed up with Goodhart and the somehow still breathing Dave Adamson to give the Oklahoma City Bulls a league-leading 36-10 record. That's been done off the heels of a 24-2 May (which included a 19-game win streak). Very Death Valley-ish.

In Triple A, the Tucson Bulls are also a league-leading 36-10. That gamut is being run by McPherson and Verba with a sprinkle of McInturf and a rejuvenated Ron Malone as its ace.

The Single A club in Little Rock, Arkansas is hanging around. Strong pitching keeps it at pace with the division leaders, but it needs some hitting. Maybe when Perkins, Eckstein and Wright join the team.

Thanks to some drops, we are now 2nd in Top Systems. I expect we will stay there after the draft with Murillo keeping Carolina in first.

Oh and there's a team in Denver but nobody cares.

Hightower's a late bloomer. He was horrible for me. Thought for sure he'd be a bust. Might not be the case now.

High school guys can make you pull hair. They can be awful for five years before they hit that "I would have just gotten out of college" switch.

Swept a four-game home series versus Toronto.

Then we took one of three at Pittsburgh. It would have been nice to win that series. Still, we're hanging around.

Oto wins his first accolade as Import player of the week.

Rosales hits .462 last week in AAA. Rosales has not hit under .330 in any season since his freshman year at Stanford when he hit .310. He is batting .335 so far at Memphis and seems ready to take over next season when the club moves to Seattle. Remarkable stats for someone as slow as Cracker.
