This is a very deep discussion about AAAA or at best "role players" we are having.
We can't keep all our players or hoard them, but I'm for whats best.
I still don't like how signing 10000 players and leaving them in the DFA que for 20 days is any more legal. Might as well add that rookie A ball level.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

He now has my 29 year old SP who I had in reserve in AAA as starting for him in AA.
I'm competitive and these guys are free to acquire. I didn't have a scout until the start of this past sim. So I had a DFA full of players for my scout to analyze. The ones that were cut he wasn't a fan of. You also don't know if your claim is ever going to go through. I figured a lot of these guys would be claimed by lesser teams. They damn well should have been. I lose a shit ton of guys to the same process. Carlos is trying to run Bats West out in Denver.
I have a long history of acquiring these guys and actually using them quite often. My backup catcher is a 4-A guy right now and so his my backup OF. Depth is the name of the game. I think the downfall of a lot of BLB teams is not fielding enough reserve type players. Injuries happen. And when you have to call up a complete scrub for three weeks because you had an injury, that costs you. 4-A types give you the ability to play a serviceable player. And if they are out of options, when your player returns from injury, you often lose the 4-A guy to waivers. Rinse. Repeat.
And again, it was my mistake. The players are all listed in the commish to do thread. I have no issues with sending them back.Last edited by Pat; 04-08-2014, 06:44 PM.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

I don't think it was your mistake. The game didn't assign major league contracts. You didn't know that was going to happen, or was happening.
I didn't know either. I wonder how many guys I acquired last year and pushed to AAA as depth that shouldn't have been easily stashed there.
Though for me I did end up using most of those guys in the BLB. Same with this year as you can see by my infield.

I do it too. Some players get that 40 man and some don't which can be confusing. I like the depth AAAA players provide for injuries. It makes sense.Death Valley Scorpions (2003-Present)
