Good news is we can't play much worse than we are now.

That was a bad week. Bullpen imploded. Dave Santoyo comes back this week vs WAS. We need Bill Bonilla back soon too. Not off to a great start, while Pat is. That's not good for the long run. Hopefully we can stay close until we are clear of these injuries.

Look at McPherson and Verba go in AAA.

Also nice to see Goodhart return to the Top 100 after over a year. We now have 6 players in the Top 100 and in my opinion Oscar Gaxiola should be the seventh.

OSA seems to really like Dave Adamson. I don't see it, but maybe there's something there.

Oh and the BLB squad went 3-4 which is nice.

At first I didn't plan on keeping any of the players I received in the Dallas deal (except for Hightower). But we wanted to see what they could do. Gill is the first casualty. Some power but he's absolutely awful. Rather give those at-bats to Rule 5 pickups Saldivar and Elias.

my AAA and AA are in 1st place, that is simply for the asshats that made a big deal about my minors a few seasons ago.

OF Gertrudes Gambino wins the IL Rookie of the Month award and we somehow finish the first month in 1st place. Seems like every Porter team is stuck in the mud at the moment.

Not really looking forward to this only because I hate setting them up. But I guess the 4 or 5 wins we'll get this week should be nice.

6-0 week, including two walk off wins vs. Wilmington. Sorry Tom.

GOOD: I think Tyler McLouth reads the forums. In six games since being listed on my trade block, he raised his average from .268 to .315 and his OPS from .644 to .807. In the 11-2 win against Wilmington he went 4-4 with a HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, before being pulled in the 7th.

GOOD: The hero of the 12th inning 3-2 win over Wilmington was OF Gabriele Clareno. Coming off the bench to pinch hit in the 10th, down 1-3, Clareno hits a two-run homer to tie the ball game. Later in the 12th, Clareno hit a double to advance the game winning run to 3rd. With four stud outfielders already on the roster, Clareno will have to take advantage of the little opportunities he gets. So far, as a pinch hitter he is hitting .364 with a 1.364 OPS. Thanks Matt!

GOOD: 3B Antonio Cardenas is on pace for 179 RBI. Oh yeah.

In other news...I saw that Mal Brady got signed for $4M! That is one thing I really don't like about this game. He had a $16M team option to return, which I of course declined. Then he wanted a four-year $12M per deal to re-sign. I let him test Free-Agency....and he is going to go to Maine for just $4M? I mean, I love the signing Z. I still think he has pop left in the tank. But damn...I'd kill to have Brady on my club for $4M.

This week will be tough. Seven on the road coming off three games vs. Morgantown. Four @ DVS, 3 @ DAL. I expect to come back to earth this week.

5-2 sim via a three game sweep at Cleveland and a split four game set in Pittsburgh.

We've climbed up to .500 after a month with guys missing. I'll take it.

Of course, now my closer Dae-hee Yi is out for a year and his career is probably over after blowing out his elbow. That injury leaves us without our closer and our setup man, in addition to our second baseman and center fielder.

                          After just one month. Frustrating.
