Pat your minors are all full and since you claimed 14 players this sim and have roughly 35 players DFA please watch that for Tuesday.

In other news Pat swept me so in case he doesn't take care of his DFA we'll gladly arrange his roster.

4-2. Tied with WAS at 9-4. I can only hope they start to show their age eventually. Otherwise, I'm going to have to fight for this division down to the wire.

Ian Reynolds continues to carry us. He's getting lots of help from Colin Cash and Colin Reed. Reed is playing for his next contract, so I expected him to blow up.

Tex Watts comes back this week, which let's us put Boatner in AAA to start the season. Watts is a huge boost for us.

Robby English, after throwing 2/3rds of an inning and getting injured in his first start, has thrown 14 innings in 2 starts and given up just 10 hits, 1 ER, striking out 20 and walking no one for a 0.59 ERA and 0.65 WHIP.

Omar Maldonado has struggled in place of injured Bill Bonilla.

Brendan Lindsey and Travis Hoffman are starting out slow.

We'll see what we do against Morgantown and Wilmington for Stout week.

      In the Minors:

Boatner's acquisition keeps our system at #5 overall, despite Coma entering full blown rookie mode this past sim. CL Chris Navarette and SP Adrian Pulido shoot into the Top 30 range. I hoped they'd keep climbing and I worked really hard to hang onto both in trade talks. Pulido has surprised despite his injury. My scout has him as a #2-3 type starter now, possibly better. My OF's Garza and Berry continue to look like they have a bright future and should be ready to replace some of my current stars in time. SP Olivares has slipped and so has TJ Kline, but I don't need them to be stars, I need them to fill out a rotation in 2-3 seasons. 3B Alex Gomez hit 29 homers in AA last season. My scout has him as an 8 power. He'll probably find his way into my line-up in a year or two.

        No problem.

I didn't have any budget room to participate in Free-Agency so I knew I'd be busy on the "waive sim".

Another good week for the Brawlers as we go 5-2 against Carolina and Los Alamos. Good pitching and opportune hitting are carrying the day for us so far.

My setup man is now out for three months, joining my second baseman and center fielder on the disabled list. Looking like one of those seasons.

At least we went 4-2. Daniel Larivee, who's subbing in in center field, not only stepped up but won Player of the Week. Impressive!

Also, Pat Danford is back in Maine.

                I feel you.

You and I are both three games below our Pythagorean records already.

3-3. Looks like we'll be about a .500 team this year, which is fine. At least we'll have some cash to spend in FA next year. We got manhandled by the power lineup from Vegas, but played pretty well against Wilmington.

We were able to pick up a couple of guys for cheap from FA, infielder Curt Hardin and lefty reliever, Americo Sopas. Not sure that Hardin can swing the bat anymore, but I think he'll still do ok defensively and give us at least a little power at the bottom of the lineup. Sopas was a solid reliever for years in Morgantown and we needed another lefty to round out the bullpen.

Ian Morrow and Angelo Barrios have been demoted to Annapolis and barring injury, both will end their careers with Baltimore down there. I'm really sad for Barrios because I really think he still has it, but we just don't have the time to wait for him to heat up in the second half of the season like he usually does.

We also picked up Chicago castaway, Freddy Noell from waivers. My scout thinks he's actually pretty decent. He'll get a chance in Baltimore as our 4th outfielder and an extra pinch runner.

-I think Jimmy Whitworth is for real. After a tough start last week to the season against Batavia, Jimmy bounced back this week with 2 wins including going 8IP with 10K and out dueling young phenom, Rob "Coma" English in a 1-0 win agains Death Valley.

-Its still early but all three prospects obtained in the trade with New York are looking great. Its taking everything in me to not promote them early. I may still promote Chiba though. I have two RHB first basemen so he may replace either Alfaro or Willis against RHP.

Pawtucket 2-4. With more lefties playing on our team today we appear to be much better on the road versus home.

Pat Gould and Travis Jimenez simply aren't embracing the team's new direction. They need to leave soon.

5-1 week. The only loss was by Nick Cortes who has traded to Davenport today.

Despite losing Heishu Shiraishi and Mal Brady because of finances, I expected the offense to struggle. That hasn't been the case at all as the Bats are 1st in the IL in AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, walks, 2nd in hits, XBH. However, just 4th in runs scored. Need to get better at manufacturing.

The rotation, sans Cortes, has pitched very well. 2nd in the IL in starters ERA. The five man rotation is now a combined 7-1. The bullpen played much better this week but it's still a big question mark. The surprise so far has been failed starter and former first-round pick Manny Salas. He never learned how to control his pitches but as a reliever his 98MPH fastball has produced 12 Ks in just 6 IP.

Stout Week! The Bats host the Mohawks and the Blue Wave this week. The Scorpions have the same record and play the same week of games. Should be interesting.

While in the minors...the big story so far is top prospect 2B Danny Romero. Just turned 21 on April 11th, is currently hitting .364 with a .955 OPS in Triple-A. His weak arm only allows him to play 1B or 2B and with Tyler McLouth, Steven Bailey and Cy Gray looking to get time at 2B, Romero will develop in the minors for awhile. I was a bit nervous about calling up a (then) 20-year-old to Triple-A last year, especially after he struggled. But he is proving that he can hit at this level.

Can't hit, and bullpen is shaky at best.

But the real question is what the hell is going on with the Cheyenne Wranglers in A?

Took 2 of 3 against Maine. Then we got swept by Cleveland.

                              Try again.
