Looks like we are going to struggle with giving up home runs again this year. Alvarez looks like he may be back to his normal form this year and he needs some real protection if he's going to be in the #3 spot.

Could Chiba be the answer?

New year, same results. Sitting at 2-5. We look improved over last year but our strength from a year ago was the bullpen which looked HORRIBLE this week.

Connolly hasn't lost a step even though he missed the entire Spring Training. 3 homers in the first week will get the fans on his side.

On a positive note, this is the first time I've started a season decently. Usually, we're 1-5 or something like that. With the exception of my #5 starter (who still struck out 10), my pitching was outstanding. Hamilton off to a hot start too, hope he stays healthy though.

It might be the only time I'll get a chance to say it so I'm going to say it, "Davenport is in first place!" Nice 4-2 start to the season though it was a close shave in several of the games.

6-1 start, but we swept Denver in a 4 game set so take that as you will.

The last couple seasons we've started the season incredibly hot as well and then faded, so, I'm not putting much into this.

I will say: Bobby Tiscareno, former 6th round pick, consistently snubbed by Delandis for his Minor League players to watch list, is going to contend for the SS this year.

Tony Cavazos is legit.

Dave McDaniel - I thought I had a steal from umd when I first got this guy. He's shown major flashes but injuries have killed him and I think he's about done.

Richard Velasquez - Really like this kid. Expect a good season from him.

Robby Aten - finally showing the potential he's always had, I just hope I can keep him healthy. He keeps bouncing back again and again from lengthy injuries.

Koichi Nakashima - not saying this because of anything he did this week, but, before I forget, I think he will retire as the best closer in BLB history.
