  • IL- DL Championship who do you think?

    IL

    Windy City in 6-

Of course Batavia will put up a good fight. Some kids get hot at the right time so its always possible for an upset. Batavia took the series this season, but regular season don't mean dick. Overall just feels like WC's talent is a notch above everyone else right now. Plus, its just 3 of they're run while Batavia just got here.

    Maine in 7**-

I put ** on this one cuz honestly I really don't know who is better. Both are much better at home which favors Maine. Both were pretty even when facing each other in the regular season (again so what). Maine is without Hau for most of the series, but Raulo showed he's back with no issues (when will this prick die)
So here's the story : Due to the 2-3-2 format I think if Indy can split the first of the two then Indy can take this in 5. However, I think both teams hold home court and Maine sneaks this out in 7. Sadly for the DL, this feels like the consolation series right now.

    IL-

Batavia in 6. I don't think in season wins is a necessarily a prediction tool for the playoffs, but I do think consistent individual performances are useful to predict what may occur. And, although Batavia doesn't "technically" have a starting staff that is as good as WC, they've got plenty of talent. Gonzalez has been amazing against the BLB's most impressive offense this year, and I think the scores stay low late into the games where Batavia's bullpen wins an unexpected game or two. Plus Hardwick gets back in a couple of days and I think that he'll make a big difference. I think the 2-3-2 format really helps Batavia and they pull it out in 6. However, if it goes 7 its all WC.

    DL Maine in 6.

I like Maine. Raulo is the f'n man and their rotation overall is quietly very good. I'm not sure what to make of Indy although Jones can likely win a game on his own. But pitching wins in the playoffs and I give Maine the nod here with the return of Ageless One.

IL: Windy City in five. Like others have said, I think this is the new power in the BLB. Batavia can make it competitive but if Windy City were to lose, I will see it as a huge upset.

DL: I'm taking Indy in seven. I think Jimmy Jones heats up this series and is the difference maker. But there are a lot of question marks....Hau is hurt. LeBron is hurt. Fisher is cold. Gleason is cold. Both teams just played lengthy series while the IL teams both swept the competition. Like Funclown said, I feel this is the consolation bracket.

Unless I'm missing something, we're not really without Hau.

He's out for two more days, which means he'll start Game Three. With Raulo healthy again, I would have tapped Hau for Game Three anyway.

And Rex Morgan is back for the entire series.

I think the IL Championship is going to determine the BLB winner. I can't help but feel the two best DL teams were ousted in the first round. Keep in mind I only predicted Windy City correctly in the first round.

I'll go with Maine in 6
          Batavia in 7

WC and. Batavia should be a great series.

Order of match-ups I WANT to see:

                1. Batavia vs. Indy - No expansion team has ever won the Brewmaster's. With this match-up, we will have a first time champ. The last time we had a Brewmaster's between two ringless teams? 1993 when Indy lost to Los Alamos.

                2. Windy City vs. Maine - Re-match! These teams met for the Brewmaster's in 1979 and 1980. Between the two franchises, they have played in the Brewmaster's 11 times.

Polar opposite match-ups but great story lines. Just make sure it's not Maine vs. Batavia or Windy City vs. Indy please.
