Is there any way to prevent certain subs from happening?

My manager is convinced that left-handed starting first baseman Nari Garin should be the backup third baseman.

I've never put him in the depth chart at third--because that would be insane--and we've always had at least one backup at the position.

Yet, Garin has played 24 games at third this year for an average of three innings each.

Windy City is 45 games over .500
Death Valley is 42 games over .500
If we're gonna throw up some #'s, the IL teams beat the teams they were supposed to beat. Here's the division breakdowns:

      NO: 23-33

      vs LAD 5-13 (82-73)
      vs NYK 8-9 (70-85)
      vs TOR 10-11 (70-86)

      The IL:

      DVS: 42-14

      vs WAS 10-8 (90-66)
      vs MOR 13-4 (60-96)
      vs WIL 19-2 (52-104)

      WAS: 37-19

      vs DVS 8-10 (110-46)
      vs MOR 16-5 (60-96)
      vs WIL 13-4 (52-104)

      WC: 42-14

      vs LAA 13-5 (69-87)
      vs DAV 15-5 (66-90)
      vs CAR 14-4 (54-102)

      BAT: 36-20

      vs BAL 11-7 (91-65)
      vs PHI 12-5 (62-94)
      vs CAL 13-8 (76-80)

      BAL: 28-28

      vs BAT 7-11 (96-60)
      vs PHI 9-12 (62-94)
      vs CAL 12-5 (76-80)

What does this prove? Nothing, except that Dave managed to win (impressively) a division (and #2 seed in the DL) he didn't dominate by 4.5 games. NO would have a 100 wins too if they played better against sub .500 division teams and even the 2nd place Dinos.

But we played against injury-depleted rosters and that created parity. As opposed to, you know, just having a bunch of very healthy, very shitty teams to use to pad our records.

See above. You'd have a 100 wins if you could win in your own division.

Death Valley went 21-15 against the DL this year.

True to form, their margin over .500 ball was provided by going 3-0 against 70-win Toronto, and 3-0 against 60-win Denver. They'd probably have a much better record against the DL if we had more shitty teams over here to beat up on.

It also doesn't hurt that your in division rival traded you Morris in the same season he's behind 4.5 games. Morris is worth a 4.7 WAR (probably more) vs Lonnie Johnston (who was a salary dump) and his 2.7 WAR.

I won in the DL with Hartford in the Ale. I won in the IL with Death Valley in the Stout. Neither has been easy, contrary to your effort to make the IL appear as overrated.

What does that have to do with anything.

Go beat up on Denver and Toronto some more.

                    Shut up, guys.

There's a sound people are reporting to have heard coming out of Denver. It's faint, but officials from major investigative bureaus claim it's the beginning of a "u" sound after a hard "b".

Here at Denver, we've solved the case. The sound is coming from the stands in Rocky Top. What's developing over the past couple days, after two months of above .500 baseball, are fans - just a faint, small litter of them - replacing the boos with cheers of "Bulls."

The phenomena is causing paranoia across the Rocky Mountain tops. Some experts in Denver claim the sound was last heard around 1992 when the team was crushing the hearts of opposing teams rather than the hearts of their own fanbase.

After the expert said the magical words "fanbase" he was reportedly swallowed by reporters asking, "What the hell is that?"

More to come after this 4-3 sim.

                    Sent from my mobile device.

I did. You should have beat up on Toronto more. That's a you problem.

I'm not knocking your time in Hartford. We're all very impressed with how you were able to turn those 8 playoff appearances into 0 championships.

Yes, that's what I wanted to hear. But keep telling yourself it was impossible to win championships in that era.
