Not bad considering we don't have:

    Our #2 starting pitcher
    Our #4 starting pitcher
    Our starting Catcher
    Our best power hitter
    Our lock down closer

And now.....our other first basemen for an unknown period of time.

The OOTP gods turned up the difficulty level for sure.

    Tyler Deatherage........your up.

      On the positive side:

Ruben Aparicio has returned to Pale Ale award form. My scout bumped up his ratings again. Never seen a guy's ratings move up and down the way his does.

4-3 sim, including a win over Pittsburgh to complete the four-game series with three victories.

We're sitting two games up in the Ale now with Indianapolis and Syracuse looming this week.

Rex Morgan hit his 400th career home run.

What an intense week of games.

            Game 1 @ DVS: W 4-3
            Game 2 @ DVS: L 3-4 (after giving up 2 in bottom of 9th)
            Game 3 @ DVS: L 1-6
            Game 4 @ DVS: W 10-2
            Game 5 @ BAL: L 3-4 in 10 innings
            Game 6 @ BAL: W 6-2 (Mal Brady grandslam in 9th)
            Game 7 @ BAL: L 3-5

Injury diagnosis: Travis DuFour will miss four weeks with a strained hammy. I thought it was going to be his shoulder which has given him problems before. He will miss the rest of the regular season which is a huge blow to our playoff chances...however, I'm pleased it's not a more severe injury. If we hold off Baltimore, he will be ready for the playoffs, which is encouraging.

After a 3-4 week we lost a game to Baltimore and are now tied for the Wildcard at 81-62. Now it is time to take care of business. Six home games vs. Phily and Davenport. Have to have a great week to keep pace with the charging Bulldogs.

              Death Valley (99-44)
              This Week: 4-3
              2-2 vs WAS
              2-1 at CAL

              The Good:

*Like I predicted, we tie Washington to maintain our 18 game lead on them in the Stout. Windy City keeps pace and is still just 4 games behind with a big home field advantage series setting up this week.

*For the first time ever, I tried 7-day line-ups for my pitching staff. I debuted Coma versus Washington and threw 7 different starters this week. English goes 7 innings, gives up 3 runs on 6 hits in a no decision as we win 4-3. Allende, Walton and Cash all single in the bottom of the 9th off Doodle. Ian Reynolds comes up big with a bases loaded single to get the walk-off win.

*Ian Reynolds (2 HR 4 RBI .400/.400./.741) and Danny Salcedo (2 HR 4 RBI .407/.414./741) carry the load this week. As of today, they've done everything I could have asked for when I acquired Reynolds to bat behind Salcedo. Salcedo hit his 29th and 30th homers this week and drove in his 100th run. He has a 57 VORP and a 5.8 WAR. Reynolds hit his 30th and 31st homer and has 109 RBIs this season.

              The Bad:

*Washington is very dangerous for us, I don't think we match up with them very well at all. Brendan Lindsey struggles against the Bats. He's 1-2 with a 4+ ERA in 4 starts. That's tough for someone who is supposed to be our ace.

*The pen struggled this week, with Kimpton, Amaral and Fajardo getting knocked around a little.

*Travis Hoffman got beat up by California. Usually pretty good, especially against teams that struggle vs lefties, he only lasts 4 innings and gave up 5 ERs.

              Coming Up:
              3 at Los Alamos
              3 vs Windy City

The home set vs Windy City is huge, not only because of home field, but because they own us. Throw in the fact we get Batavia right after, and next week is another big IL week.

Hey guys got a question: Victor Rivera comes back from the 60 day DL this week.

The question:Does he qualify for the playoff roster?

It's doubtful we make it in, just curious.

Barring a late hot streak, it appears that Yamamoto is going to fall just short of the first triple crown in league history.

If he played on the BLB roster prior to September 1, he should be.
