3-3 again. Still above .500, which is our goal at this point.
2B and 2004 first round pick Jamie Wentworth made his BLB debut. Picked up 9 hits, a couple doubles, 4 runs and 5 RBI. Also provided some solid defense. 2005 first rounder SP Zack Reeves isn't too far behind.

5-1 and just a single game back for the Wildcard. We are 14-4 so far in August and 31-12 (best in BLB) since July 1.
Pat. I know you hear that train coming.

However, the utility says I have a 77.2% of winning the wildcard and I will likely be shortening my rotation here very quickly. I've been doing six-man all season...probably going to shorten to five-man after September 1st, with expanded rosters.
I also have only five series left against +.500 teams, while you have seven series of the same. And not to look too far ahead, but I finish the year at home vs. DVS, who will likely be resting players because they won't have anything to play for. While you finish the year @ Batavia, who if continues to struggle and you keep your pace, those final three games could decide the division.
Also, losing Gomez for three weeks helps my cause. And don't worry, I'm working the phones to make a deal or two here in the next sim.
If you catch me however, props to you. I thought you were done after that 8-17 start to the season. Can't wait for our series coming up.Last edited by Pat; 03-03-2014, 03:29 PM.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Sucks since it's a combination of flat out blowing games (really miss Rivera) and poorly timed hitting. Not an easy thing to put our finger on.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

We'll see what happens.
What a difference pitching makes. Keifer hasn't lost since coming over from Wilmington and Whitworth looks like a dark horse for IL New Brew.
The funny thing about all of this is that it all happened on accident. I was set on doing a partial rebuild until I accidentally signed Simmons this year. Forgot about the 18 mil option.

Back to reality though. This team is not going far. We rely too much on the HR with Morris gone. The pitching is horrible and with no ace in our rotation that last month is going to be brutal. The game will put us back in our place soon enough. Of course, it's ruining our draft position in the process.L.A. Dinos GM since '94
