No Philly player selected, which I agree with. Good to know the AI does not mandate a representative from each team. If we "needed" a representative I would have put up young SP Pat Simmons who is putting up a nice first half of the season.

1B is packed but wow, Wessin deserved a spot over Marshburn. It's not even a question.

edit: Actually, I take it back now. Didn't see the updated stats. Ramirez slumped while Marshburn did some really nice catching up and passing.

          Batavia's All-Stars

          SP Ron Burton

In his 1st full season the 15th overall pick from the 1999 draft has rebounded from a rocky rookie year to lead Batavia in wins going into the break. He's 11-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. He's struck out 113 while only walking 35.

          SP Danny Gonzalez

Like Burton, Gonzalez is only 24 and pitching in his 2nd year in the BLB. The 9th pick in the 1999 draft leads the Muckdogs in IP with 132.1 and has compiled a 10-3 record.

          CL Danny Magana

Another 1999 draftee, Magana went 21st overall to the Muckdogs. He took over the closer role midway through the 2003 season and has been lights out every since. This year he has 24 saves as well as 7 wins, a testament to Batavia pulling out late inning wins.

          C Bill Hardwick

Hardwick was acquired via trade back in 1999 (must have been a magic year) and was selected to the 2001 BLB All-Star game as a rookie. Since then he's put up solid seasons but this year has found his stroke as he's hitting .275/.379/.579 with 20 HR's and 52 RBI's.

          2B Javy Sanchez

Sanchez was the 7th overall pick in the 2000 draft and broke into the BLB in 2003. He has improved every season and this year is hitting .314/.388/.425 as the leadoff hitter in every lineup. He leads the Muckdogs in AVG, OBP, and runs.

Glad to see Gleason get picked. He's been a pretty nice pickup for us this year and I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses.

That was a good deal for both of us. I had no room for him and Torres was part of the deal that got me Reynolds and Olivares. Martin helped land me Tex Watts. I figured he'd play pretty well somewhere if he got more time.

You're right, it was just a matter of playing time. Always nice when things work out for all involved.
