Glad I held off on potential deals. We're going to stay the course. .500 ball would be a great season for this squad. Reeves debuted at AAA and had a great week. 1-1 with 12 K and 2ER in 12.2 IP. He could probably step up to the BLB right now, but I'm likely going to keep him in AAA this season.

      Death Valley (57-18)
      This Week: 4-2
      1-2 at Los Alamos
      3-0 at Carolina

      The Good:

*We get back to a winning sim after 2 straight weeks of .500 baseball. Maintain a 16.5 game lead on Washington, which gives us breathing room as we enter the dog days of summer.

*Tommy Poe, future ace. The much talked about waiver trade sensation wins his second start, throwing 6 innings of 1-run 4-hit baseball in a 10-2 win at Carolina.

*Welcome to the desert Migdonio Manhos. The much maligned former Maine starter throws 7 innings and gives up just 3 runs in a 7-4 victory over Carolina. His first win since April.

*Hello Tex Watts, we missed you. Watts goes 9-for-23 to hit .391/.576/.522 walking 10 times and scoring 5 runs.

*Ian Reynolds, Danny Salcedo, and Agustin Perales each hit 2 homers and combine for 23 RBIS, with Salcedo scoring 10 runs on the week.

      The Bad:

*As expected, Windy City closes the conference lead to just 4 games. They're the better baseball team. It's just a matter of time before they catch us.

*We lose 2 of 3 to the Amigos by just 1 run apiece. A 15 inning affair where Omar Maldonado can't get it done late and a 1-0 gem by Dusty Paulsen who 1 hits us.

*Dave Santoyo can't wait to get out of June, he's batting a meager .212 for the month.

      Coming Up:
      4 vs Baltimore
      3 vs California

A big week for us as we get 7 at home versus two wildcard contenders. Travis Hoffman returns from injury this week and Colin Reed will be back next week.

CL Omar Maldonado is still on the block. Like a pick or prospect in return.

I'm starting to worry I misevaluated Poe. I would have had to waive someone valuable though.

Pawtucket 4-3. Was a disruption sim so not bad. New Orleans still has us in shutdown mode but took three of four to Toronto on the road.

Burns really on his game right now and Babilo with 16 homerunss? Preseason did predict him to have 27 homeruns so maybe they saw something. Either way Jon M is not missed.

Thank god Boyce is back this week. Time to collect some data with Zak in the lineup and adjust accordingly.

Right now everything UMD touches is magical judging by that PTY record.

Love his team.....but Windy City is the lurking. Tough 1-3 in that conference.

4-3 sim. Could have been better. Could have been worse.

California going 1-5 puts the Bats in the drivers seat for the IL WC by 2.5 games.

And this next week we start off with four @ California. Big sim coming up.

              Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Looking to deal only Knight and Trujillo. Let me know if there is any interest, not asking for too much since I will more than likely let both walk at season's end.

You'll pass us. You have better pitching and hitting. You score a run more than us per game and have the best rotation (including most dominant Top 3) in baseball. Plus you swept us and it wasn't even close.

                            You didn't.

Anyway, we keep winning baseball games. Not sure what to say about that. I'm not purposely trying to lose but my young pitchers appear to be settling in this month. I think it's just that monthly bump. We'll be back to playing .100 baseball in July.

                              Well that was disappointing.

2-4, including two, 1-run losses in Batavia. For whatever reason, we cannot handle Philly at all this year.

We are having the same problem as last year where we cannot get any extra base hits. We are 3rd in BA but a very disappointing 12th in the IL in HR. That is very surprising considering our park.

Victor Alvarez's move to Baltimore was also disappointing, and he even slipped from 10th to 14th on the Top Players List. At least Sherrod played very well, going 13-22 for the week. Also adding Sherrod has helped out our defensive efficiency and hopefully we'll see a few extra wins come from that.

Even still, we're only 4.5 back of Washington for the WC as we creep closer to the All-Star break.
