Locking up that first overall pick.

        And I'm okay with that.

1-2 vs Cali with both being 1 run losses. Just not there yet.

On the bright side Jon & Jon both hit 3 HRs this week. The new Bash Brothers are here.

              Death Valley (35-10)
              This week: 6-1
              3-1 @ DAV
              3-0 @ WIL

              The Good:

*Another solid sim at 6-1, all on the road. I've been worried how we'd play on the road after getting ambushed by Windy City last week when our bats went quiet. We open a 13.5 game lead on Washington, which we'll probably need all of by October.

*Ian Reynolds continues to lead this team. He goes 11-for-29 for .397/.406/.690 with 3 more homeruns and 7 RBIs.

*Colin Cash joins him on a roll, with a .365/.412/.554 line so far this season.

*Where have you been Agustin Perales? After dropping three spots in the order, the enigmatic catcher goes 7-for-20 and flashes some power with 2 homers and 5 RBIs to go with 4 BBs.

*Tony Wences and Brendan Lindsey throw 8.0 and 7.3 scoreless innings respectively, both earning wins in their starts.

              The Bad:

*Trevor Hoffman has returned from orbit after being chased from 2 starts, pitching just 6 innings and giving up 9 runs to balloon his ERA over 3.00.

              The Ugly:

*Uh oh, Tex Watts gets the dreaded diagnosis pending after a collision on the basepaths knocks him out at the end of the week. The front office is worried, as Watts has been a key piece of the line-up since coming over from Philly. DVS could be in the market for another IF shortly.

              Coming Up:
              3 vs Philly
              3 vs Batavia

Another barometer series looms as hot Batavia comes to the desert. Robby English bides his time in AAA, where a June 1 appearance at Morgantown is a possibilty for his first ever BLB start.

Were about where we should be considering its only late May.

Still hate blowing late leads. Annoying.

                  You owe Jon an apology!

3 out of four @ Washington it a shocker for us. 6-1 on the road all together this week was much needed. Bats are cooling off a little bit as expected except for Ortiz who continues to shine. Pitching has been getting it done for us lately. Still the 3 seed only.

Swept New Orleans in three, then took two of three from Pawtucket.

I'm open to the possibility that we're actually really good this year.

Jerry Brown still OPSing only .679. Waiting patiently.

Really thought taking 2/3 from Batavia would get us a game or two closer to the Muckdogs. Went 1-2 against Baltimore while Batavia goes 3-0... and I end up losing a game in the standings.

Also lose Culler for a month. Sigh.

Wow, also just noticed New York scored 0 runs in our 3-game series. Nice job, guys.
