      Death Valley (6-1)
      2-1 vs Los Alamos
      4-0 vs Carolina

      The Good:

Rookie Zack Amaral (7.0 IP 0 ER), Tony Wences (8.0 IP 0 ER), Travis Hoffman (7.1 IP 0 ER), and Dave Porter (6.1 IP 0 ER) all had something in common...0 ER in their first starts.

Brendan Lindsey gave up 1 ER in 8 IP and Alex Torres gave up 5 ER in the opener, but followed it up with a 7 inning gem with just 3 hits, no runs and 10 K's.

Dave Santoyo starts off hot in the desert hitting 3 homers with a .320/.414/.840 slash. Danny Herrera hits .467 across 6 appearances and is quickly becoming one of my favorite pickups as an after thought in the Fajardo deal. My scout gave him a bump, and loves him some Herrera at the top of the order.

      The Bad:

Ian Reynolds goes just 4 for 23 (.174) with 7 K's despite driving in a team high 7 runs. Mac Aaron gives up 3 runs in 4 appearances as our set-up man and lefty specialist.

      The Ugly:

Not too many uglies when a 60 win team opens 6-1 winning 6 straight, but...

Helespontica Jarava goes just 5 for 27 for .185 average at second. It's early, but we may risk bringing in a better defensive 3B, SS, or 2B and move Jarava to the bench or platoon him.

      Coming Up:

A road trip: @Baltimore and @Cali. Both will show us if we're for real this early in the season and if a wildcard shot is a reality or a pipe dream.

Ha, yeah right. You'll win 120 again with that team. I'll be lucky to hit 85. I wish I had built that roster.

Yea. I needed a 4th outfielder that could competently play center field. However, he's on a pretty short leash especially with our recent pick up, Jerry Buck.

No that's genuine. They're loaded. Look at his pitching and OF. That team could challenge the cheater's record for wins. I'd like to make the playoffs, but I think if we got to 80+ wins it would be major progress.

I just mean like because you know one of his pitchers came from your system so you kinda did build it.

Not this year - soon enough. Anything can happen in the playoffs. The cheater's ghost almost advanced using 2 pitchers in the IF.

No, really, probably when this group gets too old in the next 2-3 years.

I'm hoping you come back to earth and age puts a dent in Philly Baltimore and Cali.
