Missed on Durham, but happy to add a quality middle IF in Santoyo and a nice bat in Perales at C. Also help out our OF depth with Marlin who looks a lot like 40 yr old Rex at 31.

        Still want a SP.

Ok the best part of this off season so far has definitely been Chuck Durham. Either he's gonna whip these guys in shape or tear this team apart. I'm a little nervous about him but hey should be fun. So here's the emails he sends..

I like to get paid. And I think you're going to make sure I get paid if I sign with you.

I'm ready to sign. Thank you for listening to what I had to say. Most GM's think they've got all the answers. You obviously don't, but can work with a guy to make things happen. That's what I like.

Then the kicker, the media accouncement.

Playboys Announce Deal for Veteran 3B
              Friday, December 31st, 2004
Sportswriters questioned the wisdom of the freshly signed pact between Chuck Durham and Windy City today. The deal, set at a $3,880,000 price tag, will run for 1 year.

On the face of it, all is well, though insiders say there could be repercussions in the clubhouse if Durham starts running his mouth as he has been known to in the past.

I'm sorry but it was all fleshed out very well. Can't wait to see the mutiny he leads.

I think if we turn on suspensions he definitely get's in a brawl when you play Washington this season.

I'm more worried about him getting in a brawl with my manager! I don't think Chuck trusts them Canadians.

Huge blow. Ron Malone takes a dumb talent hit for, well, no reason at all, but just because.

His control potential goes from a 7 to a 5. Two points? That makes sense.

I don't know if it's a hit per say. I had a few guys go down. As they say over in the FOF forums..."unmasking". The guy just wasn't what your scout thought he was.

He's French-Canadian to boot! Chuck wont like that.

I mean it's a potential talent hit. He was projected to have elite control. Now he's projected to have average control.

It's better than him taking a current hit. I agree. It's still a blow to what he was expected to be.

                              Pawtucket signs Pat Gould.

Solid bottom of the order guy. Power players usually fair poorly in the 7-9 spot.
Draws walks and plays good D.

                              Well.....Pawtucket all done.

                              Lets get to spring training.
