        Pawtucket 5-1.

I kept wondering when our "run" would come.

Took an extra inning game to break a 15 game winning streak. Regardless, we appear to be back in this sucker. Everything changed with C-Pat Harrison behind the plate.

We still don't score enough, but pitching is our thing now. Why fight it?

We keep having 2-4 sims. But might as well get the better pick if we can.

I swear teams have "DNA" in this game. I'm amazed that my team with completely different and much better players still does that same things as my teams from 5 or 10 or 15 years ago.

As good as season as we've had we still have the exact same weaknesses. Wanna beat us? Simple, keep it close and get us late. I noticed years ago that no matter who we had pitch late they would blow games. They would only pitch well when it didn't matter. Same thing happens today. Not as much granted. We're almost 40 games over .500. 1 run games? 2 games below. We blow saves it seems once or twice a sim. Yet we have the top rated bullpen. This causes our PYT to be -5 currently which it usually is. Can't blame the bullpen anymore. I just think it's our identity. Not at all hopeful about the post season.

In your case just might be a lousy bullpen. None of your closers scare anybody.

When Nestor and company were blowing games, our PYT balance was going negative.

                  Sort of, but not really.

Yi picked up three losses between April and July when he was admittedly terrible, and another four in the other months when he pitched exceptionally well.

Ross has six losses in relief, but he has a 3.19 ERA, so I have a hard time blaming him for losing games.

Misch, Reyes, Hebert, and Booth are my other most used relievers. They have three losses combined between the four of them.

So there doesn't really seem to be a strong correlation between how they're pitching and whether or not they're losing games.

Our pen does need to improve next year, but I don't think it's been our main problem.

Another 4-2 week. DC is on cruise control...

Of the Bats remaining 32 games, only nine are against teams .500 or better.

Month to go with 5.5 games between us and the division leader. This next sim is crucial.

Only really picked up one FA this past off-season... but he's really paid off with the new bullpen logic.

                          Eddie Resendez - 53 G, 18.2 IP, 0.92 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 2.02 FIP, 12.05 K/9

Resendez has posted a 0.00 ERA in the following months: April, June, July and August.

Minor leaguers seem to have a high opinion of themselves in this version. Everybody thinks they can play in the bigs.
