4-2. A bit surprised. Was hopin to get 4 wins as we continue to improve every week (1-6, 2-4, 3-4, 4-2). Guess that means we are going 5-1 next week!

But seriously didn't expect to win a series against Washington. Figured at best I could go 3-3 with a good week.

Having three big bats has helped tremendously. At least one is coming through every week to lead us to a win or two. It's a big big help compared to having absolutely nothing offensively last year.

Right now Marshburn is the one struggling but I imagine he will eventually pick up around the time Duarte cools down.

Our pitching has been surprisingly average. It's keeping us in games which is another improvement from last year. Roman has a poor ERA but it doesn't speak to what he's done for us. He pitches deep into games and has really only had one awful awful start.

Melson is rehabbing in AAA but comes back for the next sim. It's very possible that DeBenedetti finds himself playing a backup role. I like what Tufts is doing out there for us so far.

            Pawtucket 4-2.

            Spoiler

Every so often you make a move that makes you proud. After 2 plus seasons trying to nab this kid Ivan Cervantes finally got his shot this past week. His first BLB action since 2000, all he did was bat .308 , hit two homeruns INCLUDING a 3 run game winning homerun in the bottom of the 9th
My scout has his splits against lefties as 5-6-7-5-5, this kid screams Patoria Park.

Glad that crazy first month schedule is over with. A lot of quality teams. One disaster week and three very solid ones to finish the month at .500, just a bit below our goal.

Let see how May turns out for us and the Ale brothers.

two straight winning sims is not what I'm looking for. Marlin hitting HRs for fun is cool though.

Up and down play continues. Terry Mast showing his power skills with 7 HR on the year. Getting swept by New Orleans hurt.

                      SIM 4

                      Washington Bats (14-11; First)

Four losses by a total of six runs. Need to make some tweaks.

                      The Good
-Amid off-season and Spring trade rumors, 1B Nari Garin is tearing the cover off the ball. A platoon player who sits the bench vs. lefties, Garin is hitting .321 with a .938 OPS vs. RHP. On pace for career highs in HRs (26) and RBI (91).

-Fresh off his first ever Pale Ale, SP Travis DuFour is on pace for a 19-6 season, with a .86 ERA, .75 WHIP and 7.0 WAR.

                      The Bad
-Slugger C Mal Brady is on pace for a 13 HR and 39 RBI season. Last year he hit 28 and 107, respectively.

                      The Ugly
-Bats lose 2 of 3 to Denver....in Washington.

                      Next Week
-Here is a real test for this team. Three vs. DL-leading Syracuse and three @ last years DL win leader, Indy. If I can go .500, I'll be pleased.

                      The Minors
-The 23rd overall pick in 2002, LF Makato Kataoka is finally proving why he was selected so high. The 20-year-old out of Alabama, is hitting .310 and .388 vs. RHP.
                      Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
                      Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
                      Washington Bats - 1979-2013
