FYI, you can view the Draft Pool in game by going to BLB -> Transactions -> Draft Pool. It makes it easier to view than the html since you can sort in the game.

Yeah and with the highly inaccurate SISA scouting it's gonna be a crapshoot!

I think with scouts turned off, SISA shows accurate ratings.

Good to know. Cuz with scouting, they're very flakey.

We're still on target for the schedule in the first post of this thread. The draft will be held on July 11th at 9pm ET. It will be held in the league chatroom, which there is a link to on the top bar. I suggest everyone try to enter it before then to make sure it works.

FYI. Since the draft is held at the end of the Tuesday sim, the draft order won't be final until right before the draft starts.

I actually have a question about the draft order. I'm assuming, because you said the order won't be finalized until after Tuesday's sim, that the order will be based off of current record.

That's fine and I'd agree with it if it was based off of last year's record, but I really don't think 1/3 of the season is an accurate barometer to measure how good/not good our teams may be.

Wouldn't the "fairest" way be to reverse the initial player pool draft and then base next year's rookie draft off of this year's record?

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining (because I'm really not), but I got stuck with the 19th pick in the inital draft and it looks like that's where I may be sitting for the amateur draft as well.

And please, please don't tell me that at least I'm in first place or that I'm tied for the best record in the league because this draft is about helping to restore/better our farm systems and mine just happens to be is pretty bad shape.

With the way the CPU performed the initial draft, I don't think there is a fair way to determine the order for this year's rookie draft. I just don't see the teams picking lower in the initial draft as having that much of a disadvantage, especially considering 3/4 division leaders were in the bottom quarter of the initial draft.

I think most of us are in the same boat in regards to having weak minors systems since there are very few actual prospects, with ratings below their potential.

The initial draft was a disaster from the start.

1st pick was a 37 year old starting pitcher with ratings of 6/6/7
Last pick of the 1st round was a 22 year old SP with 5/7/7 ratings.

The draft was just all over the place. Also, the draft was snake style so you at 19 got the 19th and 22nd picks. The 1st place team got the 1st and 40th pick. Seems pretty fair.

(Full disclosure: we have the 2nd to worst record in BLB and would benefit from the original draft plan.)

All in all it really isn't that big of a deal. Maybe I'm just disgruntled that my late 30's stud hitter blew his MCL and is done for the year. Or maybe I just like to rock the boat.

Maybe I can go on a 12 game losing streak over the next two sims and score the 5th pick.
