Excited to land SP Pat Powell from the Rule V.

My scout says 5-4-7 potential. 17th overall pick in 2000. Hasn't been developing his control being stuck in Double-A so he might not ever get there. But the soon-to-be 25-year-old will be given a shot in Spring Training to show some life.

Was hoping to get him. Didn't make it to us obviously.

Had to settle for Rich Rodriguez from LAD. Very similar pitcher but never made it out of Single A. Not expecting much.

Happy to get Porter and Pittman. We'll keep Porter in the pen, but eventually we will try and start him.

Anyone on my roster is available - I'll listen to offers that include picks or prospects. I'd also consider taking short term bad contracts off your hands.

Happy to get at least 1 of the 2 I was after. Porter was the one that slipped away. Good choice.

Great. I swear Porter wasn't rule 5 eligible but I'm sure I somehow missed it. I even double checked my org last night.

Sounds like we need to do a do over.

More like a do away with. Rich Rodriguez had no business on ANY teams rotation or BP. But because he's got a little control potential he got snatched up.

I've always hated the Rule V. It's probably caused more headaches over the history of the BLB than we've seen success stories.

That's not fair. I'm sure Denver too negatively affects the proportional scale of success vs failure in the above comparison.
