Well season ended on a high note. 90 wins which makes us +44 from only two years ago.

Big Jon came back from his injury like a true stud and almost defended his HR title but still ended with 38 which was enough to win the IL title and he received the player of the month for September.

A pleasant suprise this year is the late blooming of SP Damien Williams. Here's a guy that hovered around the mid 50's in prospect rankings but never seemed to "get it." He FINALLY got his last point of control at age 28 and that transformed him into a new pitcher. An emergency callup due to the injury of Javier Gonzalez not only did Williams pitch well, he won Pitcher of the Month for September! He's most likely pitched his way onto the playoff starting rotation.

Looking forward to our first playoff series in 10 seasons even though I do not have high hopes. Caplan is still out 1-2 weeks. Fortunately Travis Neal's diagnosis was excellent and he's already back with the team.

What a great year for us.

I know we won a chip the year before last but I'd be lying if I thought we'd win 99 games this year. Big pickups in Torres, Jacapino, Dunlap and Leyva really made us a playoff caliber team again. It cost a bit but this gives us our 6th, 90+ win year in 7 years.

We had a lot of great individual performances this year but none bigger than Angelo Barrios. Since the All-Star break the man hit .354/.412/.974 with 11 doubles, 4 triples, 15 home runs and 65 RBI. All of this from the leadoff position. He won't win the Stout Slugger but he's definitely our 2003 MVP.

Sounds like he should have been hitting in a different spot in the lineup.

Same for the Bulls. We must be kindred spirits.
