Unfortunately the time has come for me to step down. I have been giving less & less time to my team & the league and I don't think it's fair to the other owners.
I still remember when I signed up for this league. There was a post on OS (cue the 'what's OS jokes') asking if anyone was interested in joining a sim baseball league. I had no idea what that meant, but I love baseball, so I said I was interested.
Then when the time came to get started, and I realized what I had gotten into, I wanted to abandon ship. One of my first thoughts after the draft was "who are these guys?" I didn't even think it was an option to play with made up guys...it reminded me of playing RBI Baseball on Nintendo with all the made up players.
The first few weeks, I wasn't really a fan. I couldn't get into it, and then something happened. I started really looking forward to sim days. I'd spend hours re-tooling my minors (we were bad, so that's all I had to look forward to!). I even remember telling my wife about my (as she called it) "fake baseball league."
The last few seasons, I have had less & less time to spend on my team (having 3 kids & owning your own business will do that), but we were pretty good, and I was still in search of the elusive championship. I really wanted to win that before stepping down so I could tell my grandkids stories about how we won it all.
I contacted Brad a while ago when I realized I was only exporting once a week and had no idea what was going on with my team. I knew it was time to step down, so I'm happy to announce that we have a very capable former owner who is taking over the Snappers....Sully.
I'm sure I'll stop by the boards every so often to see what's going on, but just wanted to thank everyone for some good times and for being such a good group of guys.
