4-2.
The only bright spot from the Indy series was a 1-hitter by Travis DuFour and J.J. Black. The bad spots, two losses, including a 2-10 mashing in which SP Tom Downs got hurt in the first inning and will miss four weeks.
The Denver series...if you want to even call it that, was a sweep. Oh and Carlos, remember when I told you that Zack Mueller would be good? You definitely rushed the guy before he was ready...but he's here to stay. Loved that kid on draft day.
Now tied with WILMINGTON! for first place. Unreal. With the injury to Downs and the struggles of Seth "Don't Call Me Steve" Schnitzler, the Bats will make two changes in the rotation. Calling back up 2001 Refreshing New Brew Nick Cortes from Triple-A. And the long awaited return of... Kel "Fuckin" Murphy, bitches! My scout still sees him 4-5-6. Dude can get the ball over the plate and we still play good defense. Good to have you back on the squad Murph.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

But I always trusted if he could keep his walks down, he'd be just fine. Walks were always the issue for him. And last year his control went up a notch. I think that's been the difference.
He is, right now, my only legit future starter. I want Potter to be good but I'm a bit worried he might be one of those that underperforms his ratings.
Anyway, no chance I was giving you Mueller to have him work alongside Campos.

Everyone is different on this. Why start the clock at age 21 anyway? We try keep the kids down to min 23 unless he's just bored and completely dominant. I always admired Gyrodork for being the ultimate cooker. He had no issues keeping a kid down til 26-27. Its fun watching all of our ideas.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

Personally, I hate to watch players lose great years in the minors while they are still being "cooked" (many times overcooked IMHO). I guess I'm just a 'sink or swim' GM.

I'll split the difference here. Funclown over coddles his guys although he's gotten better he's way too conservative.
Some other owners rush way too fast, skipping levels and rushing guys when it's really not needed. I have my own "rules" about moving guys because they are all different. That way the decision is made for me. I don't have to wonder if it's time or not.
In this case, IMO he was most definitely rushed. Touching all 4 levels in an organization in one year is way too fast. Especially when the ratings don't support it.
I actually tried to trade for him early on too. Hopefully it's not too late. He's still young enough that he may be serviceable.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

I agree you don't normally want to run a guy through all levels in one season but as I've said before his ratings were 5-7-3.
That's what's had on my end. His potential was 5-7-4.
So I didn't see the point in waiting. You guys might have had something different and that's fine but that's what my scout saw and OSA was close as well.
I don't think his control goes up in AAA. I think when a guy is on the cusp, you let him dog it out in the BLB.
Two guys I did the same with (Soto and Gerard) and now Top 20 pitchers. They needed BLB time to grow.
I tend to think guys need the challenge. Always been my strategy. But that's why there's 24 of us. Different philosophies. It's nice.
Edit. To add to that. My philosophy has always been that if a guy is on the cusp I promote him to the next level. I want to beat them down. I want them to prove to me they can play. Mueller went up a level and kept throwing well enough for me.
The only reason I haven't promoted Ron Malone to AA is because I want him to run off a few more great starts. But he's almost there for me. I don't care if his control is a 3.

Then I went ahead and started punching people for fun. Really messed me up. I carried that over to the BLB. Thought I could just punch my way through. I'm not Mayweather (note this post is made before Saturday. After Saturday, Mayweather and I will have something in common: beat egos).
Anyway, my team sucks. No one should listen to me.
