With no trades or commish things to do it only takes me about 10 minutes. Then I just have to make the files and upload them.

Also I'm working on the Image Pack now.

          My hitting is atrocious
          My pitching is worse

Suddenly were the top hitting team in the IL....and just as suddenly can't pitch. Except for a few guys.

JJ Caplan cracks the top players list joining Mejia. Hopefully we can get a few more of the kids on there soon.

Broke out our first broom of the season too. Our hitters feasted on the sub par pitching this sim. THen again so did theirs.

Note to self, Franklin Martinez is not a starter. I think we gave up 3 grand slams to the Playboys this week.

Pawtucket 4-3. Basically, we win 4 games every sim. This one was expecting 5-2, but split versus Hartford. Oh well, every dog has its day.

                Some early thoughts:

Tyler Quinn might have turned the corner batting .314 with 7 homeruns this month. Even holding his own against lefties. Now if he can keep this going on the road LOOK OUT.

Tyler Gerald just looks nasty right now. Might be at the peak of his career.

The offense is a machine! Rookie Jon Montalbo batting over .300 with 3 homeruns OPS .859. Probably the most polished kid from our AAA since Carmen. With that, no way we hit like this all season.

We CANT pitch!! What I feared, Ivan Gutierrez's wheels might finally be coming off. This makes Tom Vaccarella comeback very crucial. Ruben Aparicio ERA at 6.75 while Ed Kisselburg ERA at 1.93 with 2 walks & 17 so's in AAA. Guess which one is playing in Pawtucket next week? Like our hitting in reverse, we can't pitch this poorly all season.

Overall clinched a winning record in April and thats all I asked. Hate slow starts.

Finishing our homestand against Pitt, then travel to Windy City in what should amount to be the greatest fireworks display since the writing of the "Star Spangled Banner"?

We went 3-3. We hit and pitched some. We didn't the other 90% of the time.

Jamie Benge bounced back but took a minor three day injury in his next start.

Potter won a game! Good for him.

Jonathan Robinson is amongst the leaders in K's. Not bad for a pitcher that's done. ;)

3-3 for the Brawlers capped off by a hit shutout by Claveau in which he also drove in the only runs needed by Davenport with a 3 run homer. May have to look at putting him the lineup on the days he's not pitching. Also got nice pitching performances from Hildago and Schuh, the rest we won't mention.

Our team trainer really needs to get some remedial training in taking care of elbows.

Finally above .500 for the first time since the Gyro days. Sitting at 10-9 due to our hot bats which is nice to see after the type of season we had last year. Hopefully the pitching will come around and Fate will turn into his normal self soon.

Washington Bats - 13-6 - First Place in Stout

                            2-1 vs. Morgantown
                            3-0 vs. Death Valley
                            • 5-1 sim with a one run loss. Good to bounce back with a Stout homestand. A lot of close games. The entire M-Town series were 1-run wins. However, the pitching got red hot against the former Colonials and only gave up two runs over the three games.

                            The Good
                            • Pat Ladd is having his breakout season. Last year, as a rookie, he made a run at Refreshing New Brew but didn't have the sample size. This year he is 2nd in the IL in VORP and OPS. The hometown hero is already becoming one of my favorite All-Time Bats. Also mashing the ball is slugger Mal "The Crow" Brady. Last year, with a contract dispute going on all year, he struggled. His worst full season as a full-time player. This year he has came out mashing, hitting five homeruns and OPSing nearly .400 above his career average.

                            • In his first full year with D.C., closer J.J. Black already has eight saves (19 all of last year) and has yet to give up a run. Locked up for a few more years, "Crackpot" is the glue to a bullpen that has been very shaky this season. Probably going to lean on him more than we should but I think he can hang.

                            The Bad
                            • I was very excited about the Free-Agent addition of 2B Jerry Davis but so far it has been a failed experiment. Hitting just .160 the 31-year-old is on pace for a career worst season. At least he has been solid with the glove...

                            The Ugly
                            • 1st in the IL in OBP, 1st in strikeouts, 2nd in OPS, but 5th in runs scored?

                            The Farm
                            • The story of my minors so far has been the development of SS Tommy Tipsword. A former third-round pick in 2000 out of High School, Tipsword has never hit higher than .218. This year, he is raking at .347. Not a top 100 prospect, currently #14 on my ORG Top 20, but I've always thought he had a chance to make it in the bigs. He is finally starting show.

                            The Week Ahead
                            • Four @ Wilmington. Three @ Dallas. To complete the Stout Week, the Bats travel down to visit the Blue Wave. Should be a good test for us. I'll say, 3-1. Dallas, like Wilmington, has a 10-9 record and has won seven of their last 10. I'll say 1-2, but I love having the DH!

Sonny Marshburn just became the first California player in history to reach 200 HR's!

Also, looks like the league history needs to be updated in the HTML. Looks like the 2002 Season hasn't been added, yet.
