      Why did Hai-feng Goei retire?

His ratings don't indicate a hit from his injury. He's only 34. OOTP 12 is so dumb.

        Didn't want to rehab?

        I'm ok with the randomness.

Added old friends Hector Anaya and Doug Rich. I expect both to win a starting job and fill out the back of the rotation this year. Also addressed our depleted OF and lack of significant pop in our line-up by taking a million dollar flyer on Hector Marin. We'll see if he can hit some homers for us, while giving us a solid fielding OF who I can move around a bit.

Still considering my Richards options. I think I've settled on trading him before ST. So if you haven't gotten something in, now would be the time. Same with C Johnny Davis. Open to moving some others as always. Like some prospects or picks.

I'm going to try a (very) poor man's Pat type approach and try to get plus plus fielding players all over the field. I doubt it works for us, but it's worth a try with this squad as it is now.

Not going to lie, I'm kinda jealous of you being able to start from (almost) scratch, trying out players others wouldn't give a shot. That was my favorite part of being an expansion team. Twice, kinda.

But that's what makes it fun, Carlos. The uncertainty. The challenge of it.

I couldn't agree more with Ryan. I know Clay used to say he was "bored" at times because there wasn't much for him to do. Now, after certain things have come to light, I'm sure that enhanced his boredom but I have always felt that way as well. It's the same reason why I am so busy with transactions all the time, specifically in the minors. And a reason to over analyze each draft class. When you have built a solid team and organization that is peaking, OOTP/BLB is fun because you are winning of course but it can be very mundane because you don't really have question marks or really just anything to "work on."

What's funny is Carlos never had an expansion team. Even funnier the Bulls considered one of the better DL franchises through the first 15 years of the BLB.

I know. I destroyed what I built, man. And after fifteen years of being one of the better teams in the league, we have been absolute crap for nearly just as long.

Oh well. I do think its fun to start from scratch. I was kidding about the roses comment. It sucks to lose, yeah, but there's fun in giving guys a shot, seeing what you can find that others overlooked. Most of them won't be great players, but even having a guy that excels at one thing is always nice to have on your roster. Outside of it, he probably never plays in the league.

So I do get it. I have enjoyed this part of the wreckage. And I said it before that I destroyed this team after gutting it for some prized players because I knew I wasn't gonna win with them and I no longer felt like it was my team. It was a mash of stars with no Bulls identity. It took one season for me to give up on it and start over.

It's been tough. Real tough to take your first 100 loss seasons in the process. But I really enjoy watching certain guys accumulate stats. Jake already knows how much I love to have him hate my third best player (and 2002 ALL STAR) Tommy Keatts.

Sounds like the title of a book.

                              I haven't won a playoff series since 1984.

Since then, I've lost three seven-game series.

I've been an active owner every year except 1987, and '84 is the only year I've won a playoff series.

                              I suck.
