  • 2003 Offseason 4 SIM Complete - Next SIM Tues

NEXT SIM: Tuesday - Free Agency 2 (16 days)

    Files due by 5:30am PCT| 8:30am ET

    - As always check those trades.

    - Not sure about the email issue. I know last sim I made the mistake of only putting 30 days of league messages and the sim ran 31 days. Since I made all trades beforehand that screwed some things up. Sorry.

Great sim to start off the new year.

Washington signs a new scouting director and two depth players from the DL. OF Hugh Brown has been on my radar for years. Not only because of his Pittsburgh connection but he actually shares my birthday, 9/12. Most of my OFs are LHs so he has a chance to stick as the #5 guy and will compete with Dave Miller and Willie Garcia. I also imported former New Orleans pitcher Jin-soo Baik. He's cheap, throws heat and has an option year left.

My other two FA targets "favor" my offer. Export in. Bored now.

Well in Pawtucket we got emails from all the free agents basically telling where to go stick our offers.

We have a bit more money now so see where this goes.

Only have one roster spot open at the moment and looking for one or two AAAA players with options still left to move in and out of the majors throught the year.

      Export in. I'm bored also.

Not a lot of free money floating around in Baltimore this year so we've gone to pick up a few bargain bin guys. We've tried to add a couple of lefties out of the pen in Pete Ryan and Cheong-Wong Oh. Both guys bring experience at 34 and 33 and at less than $1MIL for both guys in case things don't work out. We also signed former MIS star, Deron Ryan to a 2 year, 1.5M per contract. I"m a little worried that he may give up a few HR in Phillips Field so I'll consider keeping his starts only in away games as often as possible.

Took Deron Ryan to match salary in the Curt Warren deal. Injury lead to opportunity and he pitched very well.

I saw that. I'm hoping that adding Kelch will help him keep a few more balls in the park as well.

Remember when you said we were 2nd best in the division and we somehow ended up with the best record in the league and won a chip? Even with my best two relievers mysteriously going down to season ending injuries at the end of the year?

Ill take those kinds of predictions every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Wow. Where was I when this guy was drafted? My early favorite for IL 2003 New Brew.

My minors were barren, so I tried to sign some young kids to fill things up. Good luck to anyone in the same boat because it looks like Pat took over Indy last sim. WTH!

I always throw that many offers out, but I usually land half of them, if I'm lucky. This was weird.
