NEXT SIM: Sunday - Free Agency 1 (16 days)

    Files due by 8am PCT

    - Please check all your trades both in-game and in the draft pick thread.

    - I received 7 Rule 5 lists and believe I did them correctly. I could not pick McKay for Baltimore since he's in the organization already but made him "undraftable" after that. How we make him a permanent part of the Active Roster I don't know. If we can't we can all watch Delandis to make sure he doesn't get sneaky on us. If I screwed up anything else we can 'fix it' later.

    - Revived Windy City's player. I remember somewhere that revived players had to be Active or Top 100, and they were setback to original injury. I can't find anything in the rules though. If somebody thinks different we can discuss it. For now he's alive again.

    - Washington and Pittsburgh (strange bedfellows) were the only two teams who had DFA issues...both players were moved to AAA. What are you guys up too?

    - Sorry for the delay. I had a Rule 5 issue and had to start over.

Clarence Ortiz, Adrian Martinez, Joe Dominguez and Robby Bowen all declined arbitration. The bright side, potentially netting me two Type B comp picks and a Type A comp pick.

I lost almost every single arbitration case. Bright side, because so many declined (above) I have $10M in budget room and a surplus of cash.

Free-Agency is upon us....let's get started.

I love the Rule V draft and draft someone every year, but this year's class was pure crap.

              Pawtucket drafts

              RP Curt Kelley (WASH AA)

Hoping the catch lightening in a bottle here. He's just needed to get us thru the mid innings of a game. Worse case, doesnt work and we send him back.

Much cheaper alternative to Harrington (wont be hard to outperform him either)

Typical Washington move. Get the veteran to take a minor league deal and stash him in your minors. Dude used to be a solid BLBer. He still has amazing stuff and solid movement. But he's never had control. I wish him the best.

I think this is the first year I didn't draft someone...ever.

                      Baltimore drafts:

T.J. Stratman from the Dallas system. I think the kid has a little talent, reminds me a lot of our shortstop, Maekawa who was also drafted in Rule V. He'll probably be competing with Brendan Lawyer, a 2002 draft Rule 5 pick for us.

Just realized that Mal Brady (post steroid bans), led the IL in RBIs.

                        Boom.

We picked up RF Stephen Alexander. My scout wasn't 100% on this kid but he looked ok to hit RHP with some pop. We will try and give him some experience at RF but he is probably destined to be a DH. OSA thinks this kid is going to explode. I could use a little luck.
