I was heavily on "keep Rule 5" but if its causing this much strife, I'd rather just get rid of it.

That could make things interesting. Hasn't FA vs trading/draft been a hot topic lately. I was gone a few months.Death Valley Scorpions (2003-Present)

Rule 5 really doesnt bug once again. Just hate where each season it leads. Peoples franchises have been set back due to unrealistic losses to top 100 players, whacky trades have occured leading to "Fuck Off" posts. We know something is broke here, yet we dont fix it.
I hate "status quo". Part of my job here at work is to remove it.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

Yeah it could definitely add some youth to free agency or at least force teams to spend money and a 40-man roster spot on a guy that deserves to play baseball.
If it creates that scenario, then the whole reason I want rule 5 is still intact - that being to ensure young players blocked by organizations get the chance to play for teams in need of their services.

It would force your hand a bit more. You couldn't just stash a minor league prospect for seven+ years. He would have to be paid money, be on your 40-man roster and collect service time there so he values himself even more later.
