Really surprised. As you mentioned you killed lefties all year. It's funny because last year we had zero lefties in the rotation, then this year we're loaded and I run into you. But the offense was too good.

Thought we would miss Tanaka as that extra option in the pen but it didn't get there outside of game one.

Really good performances from my young guys. Luna was incredible. Dugan is looking like he might actually develop into something. Aten was good enough on short pitch counts.

Dave Heath has really been great for us since claiming him last year. Took a hit on stuff last sim but easily our ace over the last 18 months.

Rex showed up. Congrats to him finally winning a series, let alone a game. It was my first series win since I started in 1983 as well.

Good series funclown, you got my vote for J. Allen and you did a hell of a job this year.

I've had a chance to actually review the post mortem, and by the looks of it our series was about as competitive as a 5 game series can be. Four games decided by one run, with three of those having the decisive run scored in the 8th or 9th inning. It's a shame we couldn't scrape out another win and put up more of a fight.

In the end we were just never the same team after losing Wessin Ramirez. His slugging threat in the middle of the lineup just couldn't be replaced. Overall, great season for us, though the sudden end is certainly a disappointment. Good luck going forward, Pat.

Yeah, no excuses. You just handed us our hat. Happy about our team's improvement and next season we add some more power to our lineup as Jon Montalvo from the last scouting report feels ready to go.

Quinn had a better season as did Boyce. Tammany did well until he hit a wall late season , but all will need to step up a bit more in 2003 with the departure of Javara. Javara was brought in as I do think the young players need a few vets to kickstart the program. Thank you Javara, we wish you well in your future.

Big question of course next season......SP Tom Vaccarella. Come July , has my legendary Doctor saved him like Ocampo or will it be the end? Perhaps an "Ironfirst" like recovery??? Time will tell.

Oh. It's so easy to point fingers. You all suck!

On a side note I am petitioning a comprehensive look at the game file. I think that there may have been some overall manipulation that doesn't allow for Virginia to lose no matter the team!
