No need to pimp him in my eyes.

But I will Pimp out Funclown (because that's what we do in RL). He got me with that Dusty Simmons trade and it just seed like every deal he made was magic. ŁUc|{er.

Tug Crudge for DL Pale Ale.

Ask yourselves, why didn't Pat Bryant's performance degrade after he missed 3 months with shoulder inflammation in 1998?

I'm not saying.....I'm just saying. Do the right thing, people.

Except that Hernandez had almost 2x as many strikeouts in less IP.

              And had a higher WAR.

If those things actually mean anything.
              Downs destroys him in ERA+

I also think this was a "special" season for Downs that he won't repeat...while Hernandez will probably finish top 3 every season.

Wanted to comment on the awards after it was final...

DL Stout Slugger- I voted Rojas #1, Adili #2 and Gamboa #3. I thought Rojas was a lock. He put up competable numbers with these two and plays in one of the most pitcher friendly parks on a really shitty lineup. Adili and Gamboa play in very hitter friendly park, in a great lineup. Also, funny to see an award winner not get the majority first place votes.

IL Pale Ale - Hate to sound like I'm complaining, but I thought for sure Downs would win this. Best, ERA, WHIP, VORP and QS% of any SP in baseball. He doesn't strikeout guys like Hernandez but I thought he was a near lock.

Both Refreshing New Brews - In the IL, I thought it would have been Tom Arrington. Infielder, 40 doubles, 20 HR, 20 SB and plays infield, in a pitchers park? But instead gets beat out by two teammates who play in the same park. But in the DL, the winner is Torres, who put up similar numbers to Arrington, but Ian Fain put up Meija and Neal type numbers, in the worst park for a pitcher?

                    Just some thoughts.

I voted Fernandez because he made his own luck. Downs had the benefit of the Bats always awesome defense. Fernandez made similar numbers but the K's make it more impressive to me.

What I find surprising is that Chavez, Maeda, Pancho and T.J. all still got a few votes.
