I really hope he comes back from this. He has been a fantastic closer and still should have plenty left in him.

I don't know if it was an accident... but Carolina killed me with Petro as a Starter. 8 scoreless innings. 4 hits. 15 GB Outs with 2 double plays. No walks. Not sure how or why he started (he pitched in relief the next day). But... quite a performance.

The plan last year was to give both Petro and Frankin (Martinez) looks at starter this year. Well before both of them went down to season ending injuries.

From what I've seen over the years with Petro though, it seems plausible.

8 innings with 86 pitches - no walks - against a team that can take a walk. Dude was throwin' strikes.

                3-3.

Completely frustrated with Curt Stewart - who doesn't throw anywhere as well as his ratings say - I threw him in there to start. He took a few first inning pitches last year and did okay, so I figured what the heck, maybe he will do okay again.

And he did better than okay. So we will see how that goes. Maybe there's a spot for him after all.

Maybe he's just excited to be out there starting and will taper off soon.

I don't know why it happened either as he's not even slotted as a spot starter. He also did it in 68 pitches I believe.

Astimbay finally into the top 100. He's the ultimate test of whether my scout is any good or not. Also, Terry Mast now has tied the AA record for HR in a season, he's now at 38. Abraham Santana is finally putting it together and has an OBP of >.400 the last two months. The future of this offense looks pretty bright and I'm optimistic.

Artie Clemons comes off the DL soon so its time to see if this team can try to make a run now. This division doesn't really ever have any sudden change so I doubt it but we'll see. We do have a series with NO to start so this will be a pretty important sim.

I finally pulled Mast up in game...7 power in AA...no wonder he's hit 38. What a masher.

I really could have promoted him but I like keeping him with the other guys that will make my core in the next few years. If he was BLB ready, I'd call him up right now but I think he can use some more slow cooking in the minors.

You know this whole "bring up together" thing. No matter what, they will develop at they're own pace. Its not like they pick on each others mojo and get bonus pts.

If they're good though they win...and if they win they're happy...and if they're happy they develope.

                            Maybe?

That's what I'm hoping with my AA pitchers.

Lol. Watching this team is so sad it is just funny sometimes.

We give up 3 home runs in the ninth inning to give up a 5 run lead.

                                Hilarious.
