Got a ton of picks coming up with two sandwich picks and an early 3rd rounder. Will load up my draft queue tonight. Movers delivered my stuff-today and I've been unpacking and setting up my electronics all day. What a pain but its nice to have my stuff again.

I want apologize to everyone in the league. I had some personal unforeseen circumstances happened late Friday that had me out of town so fast that I did not get a chance to bring my computer with me. I also do not have a smart phone and so am unable to access the game that way (I know who doesn't have a smart phone?). I feel bad cause I'm a guy that does give people shit during the draft because it is my favorite part and since '94 I'm usually so dialed in. So this is me laying off those people because life does happen and hope you guys can understand.

Just drafted the #1 hitter according to my scout but I waited because he was an international. Of course that means he's garbage and my scout is terrible.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

1.23 - OF Makato Kataoka
2.23 - RP Armando Fuentes
S2.7 - IF Travis McDowell
Eh. I'd be interested in other GMs feedback but I'm not super thrilled with the players I have after my first three picks.
Kataoka is the anti-Bat. He doesn't play good defense. Doesn't run fast. Plus, he has only got eight starts this season for his High School team, despite no injury. But my scout likes him a lot and I actually had him top 15 on my draft board to start so getting him at #23 was a surprise. The other two players I was considering were Shinji Yamashita and Vinny Ledbetter, who went 24th and 26th, which you never feel good about them going right after.
My scout thinks Fuentes has closer potential despite getting statistically worse for four straight years and losing his closer job as a senior. He doesn't throw very hard but he has a good ground ball and great intangibles. Lefty. Probably a set-up man down the road.
McDowell was I played I didn't even notice before until my pick was up. I was about to select SP Tom Osburn, who went two picks later, but then decided to see if there were any other infielders I liked after eight infielders went in Round 2 and Supplemental Round A. He can play 2B and 3B, run well, gap power, eye and avoid K. He's also a lefty hitting infielder, which is rare....might be my favorite of the three selections for where they were picked.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Fuentes..... yeah wasnt jumping up and down about him. Our league is so saturated with bullpen arms right now. Should be solid though.
Travis OPS has gotten better every season. Not digging his strike/ walk ratio right now. Possible slap hitting 4th outfielder.
As for Osburn, my scout shows he can play some OF so probably going both ways in single A for a season then decide.Last edited by funclown; 07-01-2013, 08:17 PM.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

Love the Jamie Cook pick by Los Alamos.
Has the skills to be a solid reliever, but just enough promise as a catcher to maybe give him a look there as well.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013
