Holy shit, what a brutal week. Results were great, but we lose Doug Miles for 3 weeks, Victor Alvarez and Tommy Jenkin are injured, pending diagnosis. Connolly and Farmer are dinged. Heavy toll for 6-1 week.

Health (or lack thereof) will be the difference between making and missing the playoffs in the Porter this year.

Pawtucket 3-4. Back to back extra innings loses seemed to cost us a winning week.


The Good:

Ok, seems the pitching is solid with 3 starters showing consistency and MR(Mens), Setup (Harrington) & CL-(Gonzales). 2.49 ERA this week would should of resulted in a positive sim, HOWEVER.......


The bad/awful/abortion

Dear god we can't score. Granted finally got everyone back from injury, but we can't seem to get everyone going. Obviously need to keep tweaking until something sticks. When we hit homeruns, its a solo shot and we get kids on base we strike out. I don't see us averaging 2.9 runs a game all season, but we need to start having better weeks than we have or else moral will start spiraling very fast.


The Farm

SP- Tom Hau continues his crazy vault up the top 100 prospect rankings now crossing the top 50 up to 46! 4-1/ 1.86era/ .98 whip
1B- Jon Montalbo feels like a top 100 pop coming soon, now #5 in my org ranking. Even if he pops in there, the June draft players will knock him out.
RF-Tyler Quinn needed a stint in AAA and seems he's starting to straighten out with an OPS+ 165 so far. Had one of the worst debuts in recent memory (.240 ops) so waiting for the right time to bring the kid back up to the big show. Seems we play better on the road so......

5 games out. Just need to figure out the O.

As ridiculous as it is to say that the 5th regular season SIM of the season may be the biggest for us this season, getting the injury diagnosis for both Alvarez and Jenkin will have a huge impact on our outlook even at this early stage.

Maybe in a few seasons when our prospects work through the farm system we can be competitive again. I guess it's no use anyways with the rest of the Porter just cleaning up.
