12 New York Knights 1B Alejandro Asitimbay
13 Denver Bulls SP Yoshitaka Tameike
14 Denver Bulls SP Danny Melgoza
15 Batavia Muckdogs LF Rogelio Guadamuz
        ---

My scout has Asitimbay as the highest rated player in the entire draft class. "Impact potential with the bat." Great intangibles, too. But, as an international, there is risk.

I really like Tameike. 5-6-5 potential. Throws 98 MPH. Great college stats. Good intangibles. Melgoza is a solid prospect, but there was a few players I had higher on the board at SP. Never a big fan of low movement guys.

And then Batavia trades with the team I wanted to trade with, to draft the same player I was after. I think Rogelio Guadamuz is the steal of the draft. My scout has him as the #4 overall player, #2 hitter. He just had a major knee injury, has low work ethic and is still just 18 years old, but I think he's going to be a star.

You weren't the only team Pat. Again, same player we were after. My scout had him in the top 5. Sucks, wanted him to grow up with Diaz.

And my deal was better. Lolololol

My current scout and last scout both had him at 5-4-4. Lot's of disparity with scouting reports this year...which is a good thing.

Actually I have no idea why it didn't pick on time- I already set up 40 players on my big board and am 99% sure I clicked auto-draft from list. Regardless, Astimbay the top player on my board so I guess it still used my list but just made the pick a hell of a lot later than it should have.

I had Astimbay as the #1 guy on my 40 person big board. Love the pick, he's easily the best hitter in this draft according to my scout. Massive potential and he should slide in when Rojas is ready to hang it up. Definitely a risky pick being an international but I could not pass on his upside. He'll strike out a good deal but, if he reaches his potential, will be a middle of the lineup hitter for a while.

Sorry funclown, I just got your PM. I would have declined, having Astimbay drop was too good to pass up.

Make sure you save when you set up draft from list. I can see in the Admin tool who has Auto or Auto From List ON and you had neither. Glad it worked out and you still got the guy you wanted.

                    • Yeah I sometimes forget about checking the box which may have happened...after I spent all that time making the list too! Regardless, I ended up with the guy I wanted. Much apologies for slowing up the draft guys, longer day at work today than expected.

                            • Trucking through the 1st round at a good pace...except for me. Looking forward to see who Virginia selects as there are a couple of guys who I'm really interested in with my next pick.

That's honestly what took me so long to pick. Picking between him and one other. In the end we needed a power threat and I hope we got him.
