Well if he's autopicked maybe HAL and your scout know something mine doesn't.

    The machine knows all.

Maybe they wanted HAL to make the pick?

I did put in a trade offer for the last auto pick. Oh well

The two arms were favorites of mine in a pool of about four arms. I settled on them, but really feel it could go either way. I see a lot of 4.00 ERA type arms left, so it was just about the other intangibles and a bit of "I just feel good about this one."

Usually when I choose pitchers, I have my eyes set on a guy. Gerard, Soto, Mueller, Gray, Cook, Hautbourg, etc. I knew I wanted them and targeted them. Melgoza and Tamieke are like Gaxiola, Benge and Sciortino from last year's draft albeit in the first round. I'm not entirely sold, but I like enough about them and just cross my fingers at this point.

Anytime you can get a "borderline talent" with a career ERA of 4.51 against 18 year olds in top 15, you just do it.

They were definitely the two best SP left on the board, imho.

Exactly since there are only borderline talents left in this draft. Anyone that lands a top flight starter with the remaining pool will be the winner of a random ratings jump.

edit: I say the above with a large smile on my face. I fear my past might make the above seem snippy or something.

                Also, shut up, Jake.

I honestly missed the reference the first time, though I knew you were just having fun.

I think I've gotten so used to your impression, I believe it is your own.

There are two other pitchers I like a lot, though one is super young and I ain't got time for that, and the other wasn't liked by my scout for some reason (at least when it comes to setting up a draft board in-game).

I mean, he thinks I can land at least one of the two in the second round. I just don't know if I think you guys will let that happen.

                          Batavia selects:

                          OF Rogelio Guadamuz

Scout likes him, OSA loves him. Don't like his work ethic or knee injury but with modern medicine we're hoping he'll heal up.

I also wanted CL RJ Manning but with Earley, Magana, Muenks, and Bausman in the BLB...and Davis on his way up I figured I could take a shot.

Funny. If I made the pick he would have been it.
