    • Surprised to see SP Tyler Garner drop all the way to the 24th pick.

My scout has him as the 12th best player in the draft. Good stuff, great movement and great control. Throws 96 MPH. Good stamina. Not a leader but very smart and works hard. Struck out 17 in a game once. Projects to a #3 SP.

Trading Up- I would love to move up into the top half of Round Two. I am currently slotted at 2.24.

Yeah, this guy was one of the four I was considering. I'm gonna channel my inner Tim McCarver and announce that I think this kid has some talent.

            • Happy to have the Jimenez brothers in WC. Bullpen is fine now but some of these guys will have moved on in a few years so we need to be ready. Don't believe I've seen a pitcher with an 8 for Screwball before.

              • Took a guy I expect to fail miserably, SP Richard Velasquez.

On one hand, my scout's list in game lists Velasquez as #1 overall with "other scouts agree, Velasquez should be an elite starter". My scout is neutral, rated LEGENDARY in all four categories, and even though it's not a ton, I spend $10.1 million on scouting.

On the other hand, his demand is slot, OSA seriously thinks this dude is a teeball player, and no one else has taken him yet.

It's actually one reason I hate the scouting disparity, as I think it takes some of the individual decision making factor out of the game. There are a lot of other factors to take into account, but, for example, everyone's man crush in the first round Asitimbay - my scout has him 55554 and "overall, a below average hitter." If he turns out to be a stud, I never had a chance with him because the game decided my Legendary scout wasn't going to like him. There's other reasons I wouldn't have picked him, but, I just think the major variation makes things feel pre-determined. JMO.

Really miss the multiple scouts of OOTP 8 or 9 or whatever...

                • Don't worry. My scout wasn't in love with Astimbay either. He doesn't think he's a bum, but he's not expecting him to tear it up.

I'm not sure how to feel about the disparity. I'm guessing the scouts that liked him favored either ability or tools. I'd have to check to see who has what kind of scout.

My scout didn't think much oa Asitimbay either. Then again the guy I took will probably look like a reach to other owners. But my scout had him as the best player in the draft with HOF potential. Sometimes you gotta go dick out and take a shot. Especially in a draft like this that don't have that stand out impact player I promise some will be suprises. It's just a matter of finding which ones.

I also miss the multiple scouts. I've hated the Scouting Directory system the day it was implemented.

                    • 2.15 is under consideration in a deal right now. I took LAM off auto and depending on the speed of the next few picks we'll likely be in a holding pattern until close to full time.

                            • We got Carter. Which means we landed 3 of the 4 we wanted. Garner being the odd man out that Pat, of course, took.

Indy selects SS Hector Torres. My scout loves him, but he's an international, so he'll probably be awful. Hate picking these guys, but tough to ignore the way my scout feels about him. Let them love...
