  • SIM COMPLETE - 2001 - SPRING TRAINING 2

    NEXT SIM: Monday (Opening Day)

    ***

NOTE: All levels of Minors MUST BE AT LEGAL LEVELS FOR MONDAY. That means not only do you have to be below 25... you must have enough players to field a team. If you don't have a legal number of players at all levels, I can't proceed. Even if your team doesn't have games, I have to have legal numbers. I believe it's 9 or 10. I know of at least one A Ball team with 7. Check your levels.

    ***

New SIM Schedule starts Monday. Consult the sticky with questions, but, in a nutshell, every other day.

    ***

Brad will be launching the HOF talk this weekend (or Monday). Please take a few minutes to discuss.

Had 5 OSA top 100 "stamps" this sim with one being former top 50 Ed Kisselburg. Perhaps a good sign he is not thu yet?

Losing Gill for 3 weeks sort of blows, but it is what it is. Might allow for a young prospect to get some extra work in the big show.

2B Todd Boyce(.405 ave/ .871 ops) & SP Tom Vaccarella(2.2.9 era/ 1.07WHIP) had an impressive spring training. If Jarava gets hurt, think we maybe covered.

Bullpen still seems weak, but we did what we can this offseason.

      Time for the real thing!

I really don't know how good we'll be this year. We could be a 95 win team, or we might go .500. We'll see.

The prospect rankings still confuse me, but that's ok. We're ready for our 7- win season. Only one prospect will play this year, top 100 C Dan Foglesong.
But damn we should have a legendary AAA starting rotation. Excited this is our last year of waiting.

Can someone explain to me how this rehab assignment works? I've never done it before...

2B Jeremiah Kelly was out two weeks with shoulder soreness. Suffered a setback and missed another week. He now has two injured days left. Do I have to wait until next sim to send him on the rehab assignment? Is there any length the injury needs to be for a player to be eligible?

Looked and loaded for the season.

Offense looks good, pitching looks solid. Looking forward to a tough season where both Batavia and Philly are better this year. I also expect to see a lot of with injuries this year with the abnormally low # of injuries in ST.

                Should be fun.

Washington finishes with the best record in the IL and tied for the best record in the BLB at 18-6. Unfortunately, the injury bug has visited us...

First it was IF Clint Johnston, tearing his meniscus, out six weeks. Then it was 2B Jeremiah Kelly, out two weeks with shoulder soreness, had a setback and will miss an additional two weeks. Then, 3B Chad Melson strained his oblique and will miss a month. To top it all off, I tried to get IF Yong-koo Lim through waivers and he was claimed by Batavia. I now have just three infielders to field three spots at the BLB level. In related news, the Bats have added 2B Huang-di Ts'ong and 3B Taylor Wiatr to the 25 man roster despite not being on the Spring Training roster. Oh boy.

I also lost P Gerard Champagne off waivers to Baltimore this week as well. I wish him the best.

Really strange ST for us. Great first half, awful 2nd half. No true concern though as all we ever hope to get out of ST is decent health and we seem to have accomplished that this go round. The last 3 roster cuts are going to present a few challenges, but we're happy at this point with the pieces we have available to us. Bring on Opening Day!

Solid spring for us, the pitching staff should be quite good this year if everybody stays healthy. Start off with Pawtucket this year and then a three game set against Pittsburgh. We always start slow so I'm hoping that changes for once.

Right click on a guy that's on the DL. Select rehab assignment or whatever. They can only be there for a certain number of games, then you have to bring them up, but you can bring them up after only one sim.

Clay, is it possible to get a Pre-Sim of this? He has two days left...worth a shot.
