I love the Taylor signing. He did more for Morgantown and had a higher than you want ERA Because of it. I don't like that he's not a strikeout bullpen arm but he does everything else exceptionally well.

Williamson worries me because his numbers have been climbing every year. Though I wonder if his BABIP the last two years are more a result of Carolina's infield defense. Possible.

I'll give you four out of five baseballs and throw in some rosin for extra measure.

But your bullpen was 3rd in ERA last year so I like what they do.

I think he was just tired of losing in Davenport. Its really his only motivation to play.

Washington, D.C. - Today the Bats announced the signing of veteran OF Yidir Adili formely of Stout rival Morgantown Muckdogs. Originally seeking a long-term deal the Bats offered a bunch of money and the slugger jumped at the chance to stay with the team that dominated him for years. At the announcement, he was accompanied by Mal Brady, Toby Day and Clarence Wetton.Below is a video from the press conferece.

          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0YfHsJw7np4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Really, really excited to land Adili. I thought it was a long-shot. I offered him in FA SIM 1 a two year, $32M deal. First year $12, second year $20. Both guaranteed. I didn't expect him to sign but maybe it could keep him interested in my club for later sims. He didn't care much for that offer. But I missed out on Hugh Gentry and Norm Sutton that same sim. Then Cristobal Sandoval, Willie Taylor and Glen Harrington all laughed at my offers and all of a sudden I had a bunch of money and no Free-Agents. So, literally, last minute, I threw this offer at Adili and thought it didn't have much of a chance of signing. It's likely a one year deal but like Clay mentioned yesterday, cash in trades makes him actually a moveable piece. I apologize to anyone who thinks I "gamed the system." I've voted for Matt's rule change and think this should be fixed. But until it is, we are all playing the same game.

I also signed two under the radar Free-Agents in IF Clint Johnston and P Ivan Bojorquez. Johnston returns to where it all started. Drafted in 1986 by D.C., played with the team until 1995, until leaving for Denver and then Pittsburgh. I've always been a Johnston fan. He's fast as shit and one of the leagues best infield defenders. He will be a super utility/defensive replacement/pinch-runner. Bojorquez is an interesting prospect. Well, he's 30, but he has pitched in the the rotation and the pen and had success at both. He has a 70% groundball and super high movement. He has control issues but I think he could flourish with this squad.

LOL - No, Sir. Say what you will, but no one in this league plays like you do.

My favorite part is "...likely a one year deal."

Well, I can afford the option, otherwise management wouldn't let me offer. And like you said the other day, with cash in trades, anything is possible. If Adili has another Adili-type year in 2001 and I shop him + $6 cash, you don't think someone would want a 33-year-old Adili at $26? With the ability to negotiate an extension?

No. And more importantly, it's you (not me) that everyone in this league should refuse to deal with. If anyone ever trades with you again the way you treat this league, I'd be shocked.

We don't play for anything. It's just a game. Stop trying so hard to beat the system. All you're going to do is drag people down to your level.

I play in a division with a team that has won seven of the last 10 Brewmaster's. The same team that's GM is also the league commissioner. The same GM that has notoriously won trades in a big, big way.

                  You created the monster.

                      Wow.

So my winning is the reason?

That's the most amazing level of BS I may have ever seen.

First, this was your behavior when I was winning 60 games.

Second, if you'd like to compare the resumes of our trading partners... let's do it.

Finally, you pull the same exact bullshit in the minors to win empty championships. Is that my fault too? I've never won at any level of the minors, so how can you peg that on me?

If you're trying to distract the Villagers to get them to take their torches elsewhere, you're going at it the wrong way. Saying you play this way because you're not winning enough only proves my point.

With all due respect (and I love ya, Kid)... but fuck off. At least stand by it. You're an asshole... at least own it. Don't try to blame me for it.

You want to compare lopsided trades?

And if you think I'm trying to distract anyone from my signing you are kidding yourself. No matter what I say, or you say, people will form their own opinion of the signing. Love it or hate it.

I've explained this before....a few times now. The minors are for prospects with a chance at BLB potential. If you don't have 75 players of that caliber at the minor league level it is in your best interest to fill it with guys who can be BLB back-ups. My Triple-A team and often my Double-A team is loaded with Four-A guys. Whenever I have an injury, those are the guys that get the call. I did this last year with SP Curt Tanner. He dominated the minors all year and when I needed more depth in the rotation, he got the call. He went 2-1 in three starts.

I'd love to. Please point these out based on the known value at the time.

Where do you want to start? The Olivo deal? Where a multiple time Last Call winner/consecutive saves record holder went in a deal for a pick. Picks that bust all of the time including those made by me.

And while you're reaching... look at what some of the players I've shipped out have become in other organizations.

Then, let's talk about, as I mentioned, the PARTNERS and compare the length of time that passes between a new owner joining the league and your first trade with them.

                            I'll eagerly await your thoughts.

                              Ok.

                              http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/foru...ad.php?p=27683

Joe Sargentini was a 36-year-old outfielder who could barely field his position and had a .720 OPS that previous season and missed three+ months due to injury. Los Lunas had him for one season and after showing decline at 37, was let go. And in fact, was signed BACK to the Colonials that off-season.

Joshua Poling is still in the league. It's 2001. O'Hegarty had a 25 VORP as late as 1999. O'Hegarty was a BLB player that year. Poling was in the BLB the season after. Both were top prospects at the time of the trade.

The owner, dkgojackets, was in his first BLB season. He left the league later that year I believe as well. The year prior to the trade, the Javelinas finished third in their division. The year with Sargentini, they finished fourth.

Look... here's the bottomline... you didn't do anything against the rules.

I think that contract is tacky and violates the "gentlemen's agreement" we have in this league. BUT... it's against the rules.

Furthermore... I think $20 is a risk on a guy who hasn't been a 150+ game guy in 5 years from a pure baseball perspective...but that's neither here nor there.

Look...here's the thing... it's one thing to dickslap the league with the deal... but don't pretend that (a) you might pick up the option or (b) that ANYONE should be interested in trading for him under that deal.

You did it. Own it. Shut up. Don't try to make excuses by saying that me or anyone else forced your hand. That's even more bush league than the contract itself.
