His control is 3/4. You expect his control to go up in AAA? That's not gonna happen. Guys need BLB time to develop the last of their ratings.

I disagree with you. I guess we can leave it at that. He's young. Young pitchers with his control issues take time if they develop completely at all.

I'm still trying to fathom how you could spend 12 million a year on Rex Knight.

By paying him. I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

I believe he means Rex isn't worth it. However, I think he does significantly better in Denver. As long as he doesn't have too many AB against lefties and doesn't play in Pawtucky's lefty killing park 9 times/yr.

Okay. He's not playing against lefties.

I appreciate the concern from everyone but I don't need the help. You guys are judging me based on something I tried.

I've won enough in this game. Worry about your own teams.

No kidding. I have a short attention span so all I know is its something about Rex Knight and some pitcher who was rushed.

You did ruin Mueller. A 3 control in the bigs? Never going to develop there.

You did overpay Knight. Maybe not in 2001 but have fun with it in 2003. By the way, you should sit hit against lefties. I bet you're thinking about playing him against lefties and you shouldn't.

While I'm at it, can I complain about OOTP 12 a little? I firmly believe control is broken in this game. It's too slow to develop and too quick to lose potential.

Dusty Reber was 6-5-6 for years. Dropped to 6-5-5 in AAA and I knew then he was going to end up 6-5-4. It's just how it goes. Manny Rivera went from 7-5-5 to 7-5-3 without ever leaving AAA. Travis Skinner was 5-6-7 for a long while and now he's stuck on 5-6-5 for the last two years. He'll never fill out. I can give a laundry list of pitchers who never even come close to developing their control potential whether they're babied, rushed, pushed along at a decent pace, etc.

The main issue IMO is that Stuff and movement develop so much more properly that you either have to stunt their development by leaving them down a level to try and develop control, or stunt their control development by moving them up because they're dominating wherever they are with their BLB ready stuff and movement ratings.

Robby Aten has been 6-6-6 potential forever but now just dropped to 6-6-5 potential, 6-6-4 current. I'm 99% sure he'll be 6-6-4 forever.

Anyways, it's by far my biggest issue with OOTP 12. Maybe it's the same moving forward but I think it's broken.

I notice it happens alot more with lefties. Also, by 23 no matter what is POT is (4,5,6) if his actual control is still a 2 you might as well cut him. Be lucky if it ever gets to a 3.

Not sure its broken, maybe this happens alot in the real world. Potiential is what it is, "potiential". To me, its just strange lefties exhibit more control issues.

Who said I didn't overpay Knight?

Of course I did. I also overpaid for the other two free agents I brought in. And I'll likely overpay any others that I can bring in.

Not gonna get into a bidding war with you guys. I struck first and landed the players I wanted. I'm pleased.

Again, you guys can act like I don't know what I'm doing and that's fine for you. I know exactly what I'm doing. I was stupid and tried something stupid and it failed badly. This isn't something stupid. This is taking a team with absolutely nothing and rebuilding it. When I'm winning again, I'll make sure the bottom dwellers get a reminder from me.
