Well, I've done most of my shopping this offseason.
1. Brought Norm Sutton back home for a contract 1/2 of what he was asking for prior to being traded. Plus, its only a short deal (2 years, 3rd year an option).
2. Brought back Finley Kinsey- he destroys lefties and I needed somebody to play DH when lefties are on the mound. Problem solved. I gave him 2 years but we'll see how he's hitting if I want to pick up that second year option. He is creeping towards 40.
3. Brought back Raul Reyes- this was a trade but I'm happy to have Reyes back. He was a nasty closer for us. Nate Cox, while solid, is not a closer and will be happier back in the middle innings.
Still need a backup outfielder and some minor league fodder but I'm happy.
Love the Norm Sutton signing. I also really like Batavia's signing of Hugh Gentry. Adili laughed at my offer. So did his teammate Willie Taylor. I have two offers being favored but I fear I will be outbid this sim.
Oh, and in standard D.C. fashion, I signed about 20 players to minor league deals.
Wilmington Wildcats- 2057- Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041 Washington Bats - 1979-2013
Chamissa will play DH against lefties which he has hit very well and continues to.
Rex Knight - as previously discussed - will not play against lefties. He will play the field against righties. Going to have Rule 5 pick Schraeder hit lefties in Knight's place.
We have another target to DH against righties. Hoping to bring him in.
Best part is none of this takes away from the young guys I want to play. Still going to give lots of at-bats to Vreck in CF, and will have Parker/Adachi platoon at RF as I've always planned.
OF defense will be great. IF defense is ugly.
Boehmer becomes our #1. I know he isn't a real #1, but he's better than anyone else on our staff. Potter will still start. Gentner saw a boost and will get work from the rotation as well.
Will send Mueller and Larivee to AAA, most likely. I think another year will help them. Rule 5 pick Bankston will also be in the rotation. High strikeout pitcher, improved control, good college and minor league career. Older at 29, but not my concern.

Good Lord if this is true you don't stand a chance at improving on 110 losses. Boehmer is not a #5 on most teams.
