It used to be that simple for Pancho. Not this year, though.

I offer another player for IL Award consideration.

    IL Last Call

    -Basil Petrohilos:

Sure, he doesn't have the eye-popping, league best WHIP or the historically high # of saves to catch your attention, but Basil is STILL a beast. Pitching in a BLB-leading 99 games, he maintained a 1.80 ERA and a .82 WHIP, lead all relievers in WAR and VORP, while giving up just 16 BB and just 1 HR (in a hitter's park) in 103.2 IP. Those are near #1 starter numbers. Add to that, he was 9-0 and even threw in 9 saves late in the season.

Some guys have put up good numbers in a closer role.

But Basil is much more than just a closer. Some may very well consider him a Greek demi-God.

Superior, and it may just be me, conotates far and away. I don't think there is any question that it is a tough call this year no matter if you look at it being a down year for Pancho or an up year for anyone else.

I don't think Pancho's season is cut and dry better than everyone else's.

        IL New Brew

        -Oscar Lerma:

Definitely not your prototypical 1B, Lerma has had an amazing rookie season.

The only qualifying rookie to bat above .300, Lerma has flourished as the #3 hitter in our lineup. The kid doesn't strikeout, still has some power to grow into and has 54 RBI despite not playing a full season like many other rookies.

He's going to be a player for years to come, especially when he can move back to his natural position (he's playing at 2B right now). He is also one of the few rookies playing well as the lynchpin of a playoff contender.

        Choose wisely.

          Superior just means better.

I must have missed where I said it was dominant or cut and dry. Again...please don't vote for my guys. They're already Extremely Popular and have award bonuses. I'd prefer they don't win.

Don't mis-interpret. We are all going to vote for your guys because of the added cost to you.

Shill all you want for Vleugel... bottomline is the dude has a shot to pitch your team into the playoffs. All he has to do is beat my 3, 4 or 5 starter. If he's the best in the league, this should be a no-brainer.

We have one win against Virginia in the playoffs. I'll give you two guesses: one for who has that win and one for who it was against.

Its the best chance we've got to beat you in a playoff series.

Does the Lonnie Coleman game count as regular season or playoffs? If it counts as playoffs, let's activate voting!

I think the division decider is Reg Season, but I think the WC one might be Playoffs. Not sure.

Pancho sometimes gets blisters from all of hardware.

That does not sound pleasant. He probably should have his lover go get checked out.
